2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Pete The Great! The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sin tries to clinch there but The Great circles away.
Sin moves into the clinch successfully.
The Great tries for a takedown but Sin manages to get underhooks.
Sin has hold of one of The Great's legs. The Great is fighting the takedown attempt but Sin gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard. Sin throwing strikes from guard but The Great blocks nicely. The Great not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Sin controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. The Great is trying to control the position but Sin postures up. Sin is working The Great over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. The Great is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Sin controlling from the top position. Sin postures up.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Sin moves into the clinch. Sin breaks the clinch.
The Great connects with a single shot there. Sin throws a series of punches but The Great avoids them all with ease. Sin uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from The Great. The Great scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent. Sin drives through with a takedown into The Great's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position. Sin is stalling in the full guard. Sin has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Sin in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. The Great is trying to keep Sin in close.

The Great is still trying to improve position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. The Great trying to control from the bottom.

Sin won't allow The Great to sweep him here. Sin slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
The ref stands the fighters back up because Lee Sin just wasn't active enough. The Great tries for a takedown but Sin sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. The Great shoots in for a takedown but Sin shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Lee Sin has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Pete The Great. A head kick misses from Sin. The Great throws an overhand right that lands on Sin's shoulder, as Sin tries to avoid the shot. The Great tries to keep at a distance but Sin has taken the fight into the clinch. Sin's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button! The Great wants to take the fight to the mat but Sin manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch. The Great is trying to maintain a safe position but Sin gets an underhook and turns The Great into the cage. Sin dictating the pace here, as the fighters clinch against the cage. Sin breaks the clinch.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from The Great. The Great cracks Sin with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage. Sin darts in and clinches The Great up against the cage. Sin keeps control of The Great as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. The Great wants to break free but Sin has control.
The Great misses with a hook from the clinch. This has been an exciting period of action! Sin breaks the clinch.

Sin lands on the inside with an uppercut. The Great wants to stall.
Sin escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Sin doesn't manage to clinch there - The Great circles away.

Horrible takedown by The Great or perhaps it was just good defense by Sin which made him look bad. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Lee Sin dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. The Great looks to land a combination. Sin sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots. The Great changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Sin tries to avoid it but The Great manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Sin to the ground. Sin escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
That's one minute gone in the round. The Great shoots in for a double leg but Sin sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Lee Sin has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Pete The Great. Sin stuffs the takedown. Nice sprawl there from Sin as The Great shoots in. The Great is breathing heavily. Sin moves into the clinch. The Great can't get the takedown.
The Great tries to score a body lock takedown but Sin shows good agility there to stay on his feet. Sin breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Sin ducks down and throws a hook to the body but The Great moves away. Sin feints and as The Great raises his hands in defense, Sin changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Sin is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Sin lands a couple of decent looking shots. The Great controls Sin momentarily but Sin frees himself. Sin working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of The Great's head.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. The Great wants to sweep but no luck. The Great is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Sin passes into half guard. Sin stalling. Lee Sin overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Sin connects with a nice short shot to The Great's temple. The Great wants to control but Sin passes into side.

Sin is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down The Great's shoulder. That is not cool. The Great struggling a bit here. Sin working the head and body with strikes. The Great is trying to control Sin's posture but Sin avoids it. The Great is looking to regain half guard here but Sin keeps moving and retains side control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Sin stands up and beckons The Great to his feet. The Great misses with a takedown and Sin counters by clinching up. Sin lands a nice knee to the body. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Sin effectively controlling the action here. Sin escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
The Great tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Sin was well out of range. Poor timing from The Great. Sin ducks under a wild hook from The Great. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! No joy there for Sin, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
A decent looking cross lands there for The Great. The Great tries to bum rush Sin with a series of wild strikes but Sin uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Sin has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Sin there as he acknowledges the shot. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Sin lands a leg kick that knocks The Great off balance momentarily. Sin defends well against a solid takedown attempt from The Great. Sin clinches up against the cage. The Great tries to work over Sin's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target. The Great wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Sin looks to land a combination but The Great avoids it well. The Great has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him. Sin misses with an uppercut. The Great throws a lazy right hand but Sin sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. The Great throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Sin was covering up waiting for the punch and The Great finishes the takedown easily into guard. The Great being controlled here momentarily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. This has been an exciting period of action! The Great throwing strikes from guard but Sin blocks nicely. The Great stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Sin swivels though and keeps the full guard. The Great throws an elbow that misses. Sin uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in The Great's guard. Nice move by Sin! Sin throws a big elbow that misses. There's a bit of a scramble here and now The Great is on top in guard.
The Great loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Sin pulls The Great in close to prevent any damage. Sin working for a triangle but The Great defends it easily.
Sin avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. The Great throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Sin works some decent striking defense from the bottom. The Great trying to control but Sin is working from the bottom. The Great tries to free his leg and advance position but Sin is retaining full guard. The Great throwing strikes from guard but Sin blocks nicely.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Sin is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control. Sin's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Lee Sin is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. The Great takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Sin is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, The Great asserts his dominance and retains side control. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Sin keeps The Great under control for a moment.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Lee Sin. Well Sin has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win...
