Coming up we have a featherweight kickboxing rules bout between Daryl Palumbo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hooper Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Palumbo comes into the arena with A Day To Remember- Violence blaring out of the sound system. Daryl Palumbo had real problems making weight for this fight. After initially coming in at 146.7lbs, he had two hours to make the official fight weight. He made it but it will have taken a lot out of him to cut those extra few pounds. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Smith is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Smith takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Smith cracks a nice hook into Palumbo's ribs.

Smith throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Palumbo throws a right and a left that both miss.
Smith feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Palumbo's calf.
Smith throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Palumbo stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Smith jabs Palumbo right on the nose. Palumbo blinks but takes it well.

Hooper Smith seems to be getting the better of the standup.

Smith steps in and throws a big head kick that drops Palumbo to the mat! Palumbo looks in trouble, can he beat the count? Smith is bouncing in a neutral corner joining in with the referee '4,5,6' they both chant. 7,8,9... he's not going to make it! 10! He's out! Smith jumps onto the ropes and takes in the acclaim from the crowd!
