Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 6 - 0, fighting out of London, SasH Hemingway! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Marek Koltun! The judges for this bout are William Gold, Richard Clark and James Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hemingway shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Koltun counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Hemingway has his takedown stuffed and Koltun counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. Koltun makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Hemingway had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Koltun defends it easily. Koltun trying to control the position from guard on top but Hemingway is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Koltun throwing strikes but missing. Koltun throws a big right hand that misses. Koltun must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Koltun engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. Hemingway working for a triangle but Koltun defends it easily.
Koltun is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
That's one minute gone in the round. Koltun passes Hemingway's left leg - he's now in half guard. Koltun is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Hemingway wants to get back to his feet. Koltun is pressing down on Hemingway's thigh, looking to free his foot. Hemingway is holding on for now. Koltun is looking to take a break and control but Hemingway is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Hemingway tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land. Hemingway wants to get back to his feet. Hemingway looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Hemingway looking for subs from the bottom but Koltun mounts him! Koltun looking to secure an arm triangle but Hemingway defends it well.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hemingway taking shots to the head. Koltun trying to control but Hemingway is having none of it. Koltun working the ground and pound effectively.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Koltun landing punches. Hemingway tries to reverse the position but Koltun maintains control. Hemingway throwing hammer fists to the chest of Koltun. What's that going to do exactly? Hemingway is in all sorts of trouble here.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Koltun looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.
Hemingway is rocked! Koltun postures up and connects with a big shot that has rocked Hemingway badly. He's trying desperately to grab hold of Koltun around the waist but Koltun pushes him off and unloads with more strikes, forcing the referee to jump in and save him! Koltun is the winner by TKO! Koltun jumps onto the cage and shouts into the camera. "We did it momma!"
