Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jack Hammer! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tapda Mattus! The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Chris Downing and George Francis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mattus feints and as Hammer raises his hands in defense, Mattus changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. Hammer is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Mattus is controlling him. Hammer utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Mattus postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Mattus prevents Hammer from getting back to his feet. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Mattus is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Mattus stands and steps away. Hammer gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. Mattus instigates a clinch. Hammer is trying to break the clinch but Mattus has him pressed against the cage. A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors. Hammer has a couple of punches blocked by Mattus.
Mattus jumps into guard, dragging Hammer to the mat.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mattus pushes a forearm under Hammer's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Hammer is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!
