PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Mark Piltz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and CJ Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Piltz comes to the cage accompanied by Don't Stop Me Now. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, CJ Smith!
The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, Damien Edna and Donatello Bradman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Smith is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Piltz has just dragged him back down to the mat.
Smith is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.

Smith's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.

Piltz lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.

Smith bucks up and throws Piltz to the side - he's got back to his feet. Great escape!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Smith feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Piltzs jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
