Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Jesus Jones!
The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, Andrew Berry and Paul Tew.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tygesen steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Jones.

and Jones counters with a nice low kick that buckles Tygesen's knee momentarily.
Tygesen shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Jones is trying to defend but Tygesen finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Jones slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Jesus Jones wasn't active enough on the ground.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Tygesen shoots in looking for a takedown. Jones tries to sprawl out of it but Tygesen keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Jones manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.

Tygesen has gone for a leg lock! Jones slips out almost immediately though and dives into Tygesen's guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Winke Tygesen seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
The fight stays on the outside here - Tygesen looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

and Jones counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.

Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Jones lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Tygesen has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Tygesen and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Jones lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Tygesen circles away quickly and effectively.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
