Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Roberto Carneiro!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Jon Jones!
The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, James Atkins and Steven Brown.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Jones gets a clinch.
A nice right hand lands inside from Jones.
Carneiro misses with a knee strike.
Carneiro can't break the clinch.

Jones ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Jones no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Jones is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Carneiro is controlling him.
Carneiro wants to control from the top but Jones keeps moving.

Jones looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Carneiro tries to free his leg and advance position but Jones is retaining full guard.
Carneiro slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Carneiro is looking to stand up but Jones won't let him.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Jones is trying to control the position but Carneiro postures up.
Jones really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Carneiro. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

and Jones counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Jones must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Jones is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Carneiro is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Carneiro trying to control the position from guard on top but Jones is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Jones is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.
Carneiro goes for a takedown attempt but Jones pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Jones decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Jones is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Carneiro defends it well.
Carneiro wants to control the action here but instead Jones manages to pass to full mount!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jon Jones showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Back to the action! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!


Carneiro misses the shot to the body.
Jones throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Carneiro throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Jones tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Carneiro is in Jones's guard.
Jones controls Carneiro momentarily but Carneiro frees himself.
Carneiro is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Jones keeping moving, preventing Carneiro from controlling successfully.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Roberto Carneiro.
Jones looks to land a combination. Carneiro sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.

Carneiro tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Jones manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Jones takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Jones with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
Carneiro throws a strike from the bottom that misses.

Jones decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.
Roberto Carneiro is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Carneiro enables Jones to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Carneiro manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Jones decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Jones swats away the attempt to clinch by Carneiro.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Jones shoots in for a takedown but Carneiro shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Carneiro wants to clinch up but Jones keeps it at a distance.
Carneiro closes this distance looking for a takedown but Jones circles away.
Carneiro shoots in looking for a takedown. Jones tries to sprawl out of it but Carneiro keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Jones manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Carneiro changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Jones tries to avoid it but Carneiro manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Jones to the ground. Jones escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Roberto Carneiro. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Jones closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Well Jones has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
