The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Dawg clinches up against the cage.
Dawg has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.

Dawg gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.
Johnson tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Johnson keeping moving, preventing Dawg from controlling successfully.

Johnson working for a triangle but Dawg defends it easily.
Johnson not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Johnson has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Dawg can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Dawg throws an elbow that misses. Johnson uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Dawg's guard. Nice move by Johnson!

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Johnson accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Johnson is pushing down on Dawg's leg trying to pass to half guard. Dawg is fighting to maintain full guard but Johnson has managed to sneak the leg through.

Johnson is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Dawg defends it well.

Dawg looking to hit a scissor sweep but Johnson is one step ahead there.

Johnson has gone for a leg lock! Dawg slips out almost immediately though and dives into Johnson's guard.

Dawg got a little sloppy there for a moment and Johnson has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Dawg has managed to get both his arms back between Johnson's legs - danger averted.

Johnson had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Dawg defends it easily.
Johnson controls Dawg momentarily but Dawg frees himself.

Johnson is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Dawg is aware though and is defending well.

Dawg drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

Dawg postures up in Johnson's guard and throws a big left but Johnson blocks it.

Dawg gets to his feet - Johnson follows without any prompting.
Dawg stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Dawg wants it to stay on the feet.

Dawg moves into range and clinches up with Johnson.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Dawg breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Johnson working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Dawg doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Dawg manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Dawg closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Johnson quickly recovers to half guard.

Johnson is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Dawg's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Dawg's back!

Johnson is looking for a choke. Dawg gets to his feet with his opponent on his back and slams him to the mat. Dawg manages to squirm out of the attempted choke and turns into his opponent's guard.
