Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Edward McCall (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Fransisco Alveraz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Alveraz has chosen Silly Shoes as his entrance music. Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Edward McCall! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Fransisco Alveraz! The judges for this bout are Seu Braga, Alexandre Firmino and Paulo Santos.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! McCall gets a clinch. Alveraz pulls guard successfully.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. McCall working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Alveraz wants to sweep but no luck. The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. Alveraz manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
McCall is looking to improve his position but Alveraz isn't that keen on the idea. McCall manages to regain half guard whilst avoiding the strikes. McCall avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Alveraz. Alveraz thows a huge punch but McCall dodges it nicely.
McCall is refusing to be controlled, as Alveraz sits in half guard. Alveraz thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. McCall is staying active underneath Alveraz, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Alveraz winds up and cracks McCall with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
That's one minute gone in the round. Alveraz thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Alveraz not landing any meaningful shots this time. Alveraz thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed McCall's head. Alveraz sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. McCall defending well though. Alveraz is nestled in close to McCall, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Alveraz thows a huge punch but McCall dodges it nicely.
Alveraz is looking to take a break and control but McCall is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. Alveraz decides to stand up. McCall is breathing heavily. Alveraz lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt. A solid leg kick lands there for Alveraz.
Alveraz connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there. Alveraz swings for the body but McCall moves out of range.
McCall walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. McCall throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Alveraz scores with a push kick. Alveraz cracks McCall with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd. Alveraz misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
McCall manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Alveraz on his heels. He'll look to pass Alveraz's guard now, I'm sure. McCall wants to control from the top but Alveraz keeps moving. Alveraz looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Alveraz is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. McCall wanted to stand there but Alveraz had control of the position. McCall wants to control from the top but Alveraz keeps moving.
That's three minutes gone in the round. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
The ref stands the fighters back up because Edward McCall just wasn't active enough. Alveraz tries a head kick but it misses.
McCall takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.
Alveraz throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.

McCall gets in close and instigates a clinch. Alveraz successfully pulls guard.
McCall with a flurry of punches that miss. McCall throws a big elbow that misses. Alveraz wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Fransisco Alveraz. A kick lands to the mid section there for Alveraz. A head kick misses from Alveraz. Alveraz thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on McCall if he has to take too many more of those.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! McCall takes a shot right to the bread basket. McCall avoids the head kick by Alveraz.
Alveraz gets tackled into the ropes by McCall. McCall maintains the clinch. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Alveraz lands a nice elbow. Alveraz stalling in the clinch.
Alveraz lands an elbow inside that McCall shrugs off. McCall has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Fransisco Alveraz dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Alveraz jabs at McCall's body. McCall leaves Alveraz with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Alveraz. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man. McCall gets a double leg takedown into Alveraz's guard. McCall throws a big elbow that misses. Alveraz looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Alveraz trying to control the position here. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Fransisco Alveraz wasn't active enough on the ground. McCall blocks a head kick by Alveraz.

A slapping body kick lands there for Alveraz. Crunch! Alveraz slams his shin into McCall's torso. McCall takes a jab right on the kisser.
McCall closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - McCall lands in his opponent's guard. Alveraz has his hands on McCall's head, controlling the position. McCall won't allow Alveraz to sweep him here. Fransisco Alveraz has got the better of the ground game so far.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Alveraz keeping moving, preventing McCall from controlling successfully. McCall with a flurry of punches that miss. McCall throws a big right hand that misses. Alveraz seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Edward McCall wasn't doing enough on the ground. McCall shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Alveraz manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. McCall manages to get himself to full guard.

Alveraz trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. McCall preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Alveraz is in close to McCall's body, working some short punches and elbows. Alveraz postures up in McCall's guard and throws a big left but McCall blocks it. Alveraz throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as McCall works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Alveraz slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Alveraz fails to land a wild elbow strike.
Alveraz in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time. Alveraz trying to control the position but McCall is working away. Alveraz has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Alveraz comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. Alveraz tries a head kick but it misses.
Alveraz throws a body kick that digs right into the meat. Alveraz cracks a nice hook into McCall's ribs. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. A head kick misses from Alveraz. Alveraz has closed the distance and engaged McCall in a clinch.

McCall controlling from the top position. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Alveraz wants to sweep but no luck. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Fransisco Alveraz showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's time! Back to the action! Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!

That's one minute gone in the round. McCall throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. McCall throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. Alveraz is looking to control McCall's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Alveraz avoid being mounted? McCall missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Alveraz works his way to full guard. Good work.
That's two minutes gone in the round. McCall stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Alveraz swivels though and keeps the full guard. Alveraz looking to hit a scissor sweep but McCall is one step ahead there. Alveraz has control of McCall's left arm, preventing McCall from doing any damage.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Alveraz lands with a thumping leg kick.
McCall closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Alveraz to the mat! Alveraz manages to get full guard. Alveraz trying to keep a closed guard but McCall is proving a slippery customer.
That's three minutes gone in the round. McCall in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Alveraz controls McCall momentarily but McCall frees himself. Edward McCall has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Alveraz pulls McCall in close to prevent any damage. McCall throws a low kick but it's checked well by Alveraz. A punch lands to the side of McCall 's head but he takes it in his stride. Alveraz scores with a head kick. McCall tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time. McCall closes the distance and pushes Alveraz back into the ropes. McCall goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
McCall takes an elbow to the forehead. Alveraz creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through McCall's defenses. Alveraz lands an elbow just above McCall 's eye. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Alveraz lands an elbow that stopped McCall in his tracks for a moment. McCall misses with a hook to the ribs.

And that's the end of the fight! Fransisco Alveraz comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Alveraz has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
