Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Nolan Patrick!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
3 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Dmitry Volkov!
The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, Alyssa Summers and Reed Andrews.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Patrick fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Patrick throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Volkov's waist but Volkov gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Patrick off to one side.
A jab from Volkov does it's job there.
Volkov circles away from the clinch attempt
and Volkov counters with a slapping leg kick.
Patrick on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Volkov ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Volkov moves into range and connects with a jab.
Nolan Patrick seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Volkov throws a quick inside leg kick.
Volkov wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
and Volkov counters with a massive uppercut that badly hurts Patrick! He's just covering up as Volkov starts to tee off till the referee steps in and stops the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Dmitry Volkov!
