Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Pappy Roofie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Randy West (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Pappy Roofie has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Pappy Roofie!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Randy West!
The judges for this bout are Arvi Lind, Anni Minnemäki and Marco Blurström.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Roofie throws a combination. West tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
Roofie misses the shot to the body.
Roofie throws an overhand right that lands on West's shoulder, as West tries to avoid the shot.
Roofie changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. West tries to avoid it but Roofie manages to keep hold of a leg and drag West to the ground. West escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Roofie has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from West.
West moves away from the strike by Roofie.
Roofie takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Roofie is trying hard to land a takedown here. West sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Roofie fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

West is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Roofie is just riding it out for now. West eventually gives up the hold.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
West is trying to control the action in half guard but Roofie is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Roofie is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Randy West will probably get the nod.

West throws a lazy right hand but Roofie sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Roofie connects with a nice looking jab.
West uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
West throws a big shot that misses.
Roofie misses with a straight left.
West throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
West connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Roofie swings widly with a right hand
and West counters with an outside leg kick.
Nice defenses there by West.
West misses with a looping right.
Roofie fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
West stuffs the takedown.
Roofie misses with an uppercut. West saw that one coming.
West throws a shot from downtown. Roofie moves away and avoids it.

West bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Roofie looks to throw the jab but West is out of range.
Roofie swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Randy West is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
West lands a nice leg kick that just misses Roofie's sensitive parts.
Roofie misses with a hook. West ducked under it nicely.
West works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.

Roofie thows a body shot but no joy.
Pappy Roofie seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

West thuds his right hand into Roofie's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Roofie pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces West back to the cage. Roofie follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.
West lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Roofie throws a hook to the side of West's head but West sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

This has been an exciting period of action!
West is looking to chop away at Roofie's legs.
Roofie tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but West was well out of range. Poor timing from Roofie.

West tries to sprawl but Roofie drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Roofie wants to take a breather but West is having none of it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
West tries to get to full guard but Roofie has control of the leg.
Roofie is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.

West wants to sweep here but Roofie controlling him for the moment.
Roofie stands up over West, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
West is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

West working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Roofie doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Roofie manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Roofie has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!

Roofie walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Randy West seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Roofie closes this distance looking for a takedown but West circles away.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Roofie does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.

West throws a low kick, looking for Roofie's leg but Roofie calmly moves out of range.

Roofie will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

West dips to his left and cracks Roofie with an uppercut!
West motions for Roofie to come forward. West throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.

Roofie is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight.

West swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Roofie sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.
Roofie tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but West swivels and escapes.
Roofie tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
West misses with a low kick.
West connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Both fighters are breathing heavily.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Randy West comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think West has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
