The judges for this bout are Kenichi Hosakawa, Yuuki Gou and Ren Mimura.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gonzales darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Smith checks the leg kick.
Gonzales connects with a body shot.
Gonzales sizes up Smith with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Gonzales lands with a cross.
Gonzales cracks Smith with a right hand to the side of the head.
Smith throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Smith blocks a low kick nicely.

Smith swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Gonzales bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Smith's head.

Smith fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Gonzales manages to avoid it.

No joy there for Smith, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Smith closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Gonzales did well to prevent Smith getting side control.

Gonzales on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Gonzales tries to get out of the position.
Smith lands a heavy elbow.
Smith lands a couple of good shots and Gonzales has given up his back, trying to escape the position!

Smith connects with a series of strikes and the referee is calling for Gonzales to escape the position.
Smith is working for a rear naked choke. Gonzales is not defending it well and Smith has tightened it up quickly! This could be all over! Gonzales refuses to tap and goes to sleep, forcing the referee to intervene. A little trickle of blood came out of Gonzales's nose as his head slumped to the floor. That is naaaasty!
