Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Chris Blair! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Luiz Thiaguinho! The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Sosuke Kotani and Shigeki Sano.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Thiaguinho takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt. Blair throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Thiaguinho fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Thiaguinho changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Blair tries to avoid it but Thiaguinho manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Blair to the ground. Blair escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Blair throws a series of punches but Thiaguinho moves out of range. Blair uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook. Thiaguinho shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Thiaguinho was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Blair is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Thiaguinho is controlling him well. Blair being controlled for a moment. Blair is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Thiaguinho asserts his dominance and retains side control. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Thiaguinho is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Blair knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
That's one minute gone in the round. Thiaguinho controls the position from side control. Thiaguinho is looking to take a break and control but Blair is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Thiaguinho controls the position. Blair gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there! Thiaguinho working Blair over with strikes here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. BOOM! Thiaguinho connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Blair is trying to get to the cage to help him get back to his feet.
Blair is trying to stand but he's just given Thiaguinho his back. Blair controlling the position well but he knows he's in a bad position. Thiaguinho tries to get the hooks in deep but Blair pushed the leg off. Blair is very frustrated here, being controlled quite effectively by Thiaguinho.
Thiaguinho has his opponent trapped and is landing shots. Not a good position for Blair. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. What can Blair do to escape this position? He's going to have to figure it out pretty quick if he wants to stay in the fight!

That's three minutes gone in the round. Thiaguinho is working for the choke. I would put my money on him to finish from this position. He's rolled onto his back and has dragged Blair with him. Blair is trying to defend but Thiaguinho has an arm under the chin now! Blair grimaces and is forced to tap out!
