PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Nikita Veselovsky (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dagoth Ur (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Veselovsky comes to the cage accompanied by Drugganaut - Pass The Vodka. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Dagoth Ur!
The judges for this bout are Alyssa Summers, Joseph Jones and Eddie Farnsworth.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ur throws a leg kick but Veselovsky checks it.
Ur finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Veselovsky throws a head kick but Ur moves out of range.

Ur gets caught flat footed, as Veselovsky shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

Ur has an active guard here but Veselovsky has managed to pass into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Veselovsky is trying to control the action in half guard but Ur is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Ur keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.

Ur has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

Ur closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Veselovsky quickly recovers to half guard.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Ur connects with a nice short shot to Veselovsky 's temple.

Veselovsky wants to control but Ur is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Ur is taking a breather. Veselovsky says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Ur has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Veselovsky utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Veselovsky is striking off his back. Ur thinks nothing of it though and passes easily into half guard.
The fighters are battling for position here. Veselovsky manages to regain full guard. Nice work.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Ur accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Ur got a little sloppy there for a moment and Veselovsky has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Ur has managed to get both his arms back between Veselovsky 's legs - danger averted.
Ur is working Veselovsky over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Veselovsky wants to stand and escape but Ur is having none of it.

BOOM! Ur connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Oh Veselovsky is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
The referee warns Veselovsky that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Ur raining down shots from the mount!
Ur lands a big elbow - Veselovsky is in trouble! More strikes from the mount and Veselovsky is forced to tap out!
