We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Jakobsen working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Pope doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Jakobsen is tightening it up a little... Pope has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Pope reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Pope taps out! Nice BJJ there by Jakobsen!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle Choke). Adolf Jakobsen! Adolf Jakobsen spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
