Smith comes to the cage accompanied by Promises Promises. Dennis Markakis is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Robert Twigg and Gwen Towbar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smith will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Smith wants to clinch.
Smith tries to clinch up.
Markakis clinches up against the cage.
Markakis breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Smith clinches but Markakis breaks the clinch
and Markakis counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Smith is looking for a sweep. Markakis is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Markakis tries to pass the half guard into mount. Smith knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Smith is looking to escape.
Smith is looking to get back to full guard here but Markakis has managed to pass to side control instead.
Markakis cracks Smith with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

Markakis unloads with some shots from mount but Smith bucks and avoids them well.
Markakis lands with some strikes.
Markakis looking to finish Smith with some ground and pound. This is bad for Smith!
Markakis won't let Smith get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now.
Smith knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Markakis on the ground.
