Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Rey Jericho (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pj Veenstra (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jericho kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is AR-Swift: Awesome God . These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Veenstra throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Jericho was covering up waiting for the punch and Veenstra finishes the takedown easily into guard.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

Veenstra working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Jericho doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Jericho manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Jericho got a little sloppy there for a moment and Veenstra has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Jericho has managed to get both his arms back between Veenstra's legs - danger averted.

Veenstra isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Jericho stacks Veenstra on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Jericho!
