PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Roy Bull (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Terrell Suggs (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bull comes to the cage accompanied by Black Label Society - Fire It Up. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 37 - 30 - 4, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Roy Bull!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Terrell Suggs!
The judges for this bout are Arvi Lind, Ben Zyskovitsi and Tarja Halkonen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bull throws a hook but Suggs blocks it.
Suggs misses with a few strikes there.
A slapping body kick lands there for Bull.
Suggs on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Bull lands a leg kick that knocks Suggs off balance momentarily.
Suggs misses with a two punch combination.
Suggs throws a series of punches but Bull avoids them all with ease.

Bull drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Bull lands a few punches from side control.
Bull landing a few strikes.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Suggs wants to get back to his feet but Bull drags him back down.

Bull looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Bull has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Bull tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Bull has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Suggs is not in a great position here, taking some shots.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Bull working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
Bull is working Suggs over with some ground and pound from side control.
Bull working the body and head with strikes.
Bull tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.
Suggs is trying to get back to his feet.
Bull misses with the ground and pound.
Bull scores with punches from side control.
Suggs wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!
Suggs is not content to let Bull control the position.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Suggs wants to get back to his feet.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Bull working the ground and pound.
Suggs is not content to let Bull control the position.

Bull wants to control but Suggs is keeping him busy.
Bull lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.
Suggs pushes Bull away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Bull gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Bull works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.

Bull swings around for an armbar but Suggs sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Bull's guard.
Suggs stopping the sweep attempt from Bull.
Suggs wanted to stand there but Bull had control of the position.

Bull looking for a guillotine here but Suggs defends easily.

Bull has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Suggs is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Bull.

Suggs decides to take the fight back to the feet.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Bull connects with a nice looking jab.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Suggs lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Bull circles away quickly and effectively.
Bull throws a body punch but Suggs moves out of range.
Bull takes one to the side of the head.
Suggs looks to land a left hand but Bull moved out of range nicely.
Bull loads up on a big right hand but Suggs slips the punch.
Bull throws a series of punches but Suggs moves out of range.
Bull cracks Suggs with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Suggs swinging wildly here.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Suggs gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Suggs working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Bull.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Roy Bull dominated that round.
That's time! Back to the action!


Suggs connects with a nice looking jab.
Bull lands a jab-cross combination.
Bull misses with a looping left.
The crowd cheers as Bull lands an impressive looking overhand right. Suggs doesn't seem phased though.


Suggs is rocked!
A shot to the liver by Bull. Beautiful body shot.
Suggs is still on wobbly legs! Can Bull finish him?
Suggs is starting to get sloppy and is letting his hands down. Bull just took advantage and landed a stinging jab. Oh! Now a right hook, right on the button! Suggs has gone limp and this one is over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:24 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Roy Bull!
Roy Bull got down on his knees post fight and begged the management for a title shot. 'Please, I want that title shot so bad! Give it to me!'
