The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Benitez closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Bruce dodges the ground and pound from Benitez.

and Bruce counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.

Bruce ducks under a wild hook from Benitez.
Bruce lands a left and a right that send Benitez crashing to the mat, dazed. Bruce thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

Oh Benitez is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Chucho Benitez seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Benitez takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Bruce lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Bruce lands a really nice looking cross but Benitez seems unphased.
Bruce feints with a left and delivers a massive head kick! Benitez collapses like a ragdoll! Game over!

After the fight, Bobby Bruce was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
