Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Daniel James! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Ken Harada! The judges for this bout are Taro Takaoka, Yasuomi Hirokawa and Tatsuya Matsuyama.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! James feints and then cracks Harada's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Harada down. A chopping leg kick lands by James. Harada is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Harada fails with a takedown attempt. Harada swings for the body but James moves out of range.
James lands with a kick to the temple. Harada shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?" A chopping leg kick lands by James. James dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Harada. That did some damage! A looping hook to the body misses from Harada. James does a little dance to reset his feet. A head kick misses from Harada. Harada has James up against the cage in a clinch.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. James can't break the clinch.
That's one minute gone in the round. James escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Harada shoots in for a double leg but James sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Harada wants to clinch up but James keeps it at a distance. Harada tries to clinch up but James circles away and keeps his distance. Harada doesn't succeed with the takedown and James counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Harada is lucky that one didn't land flush. Daniel James has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ken Harada. James throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Daniel James is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Harada on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by James. James obviously looking to wear him down.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Harada blocks a head kick by James.

Harada looks winded! No joy there for Harada, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! James misses with a head kick.

James lands a brutal head kick. Harada looks out on his feet and James throws more strikes until the ref is forced to stop the fight!
