Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Frank Gibbs (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Guil Ribeiro (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ribeiro comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Run This Town kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Guil Ribeiro acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Frank Gibbs! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Guil Ribeiro! The judges for this bout are Reed Andrews, Dean Styles and Joseph Jones.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gibbs fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Ribeiro tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Gibbs with a lazy takedown attempt and Ribeiro counters with a left to the body. Ribeiro forces Gibbs back against the cage and clinches. Ribeiro lands a knee to the body.
Gibbs jumps guard but Ribeiro stands there with Gibbs around his waist. Gibbs gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Frank Gibbs. That's going to take a lot out of him. Ribeiro lands with a short shot to the head. Ribeiro breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Ribeiro looking to score a takedown here. Gibbs is defending well but Ribeiro drives through and ends up in Gibbs's guard. This has been an exciting period of action! Gibbs trying to keep a closed guard but Ribeiro is proving a slippery customer.

That's one minute gone in the round. Ribeiro scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Ribeiro working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. Gibbs has his foot on Ribeiro's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Ribeiro works his way back into a safe position though. Ribeiro tries to free his leg and advance position but Gibbs is retaining full guard. Gibbs working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Ribeiro doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Ribeiro manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Gibbs on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Gibbs tries to get out of the position. Gibbs looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Gibbs is breathing heavily. Ribeiro works a leg free and moves into half guard. Ribeiro working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Ribeiro is working for a kimura but Gibbs is defending it quite comfortably.
Ribeiro is trying to control the action in half guard but Gibbs is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Ribeiro has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Ribeiro is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Ribeiro seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Gibbs does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Ribeiro might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Gibbs haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Gibbs is looking to control Ribeiro's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Gibbs avoid being mounted? Gibbs wants to get back to full guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Gibbs kicks Ribeiro off and gets back to his feet. Gibbs looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Ribeiro is fending him off so far but Gibbs persists. Nope, Ribeiro circles away and we're back to standing. Gibbs is looking to clinch. Gibbs keeps the fight on the outside. Ribeiro moves into the clinch. Gibbs pulls Ribeiro into guard.

Ribeiro avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Gibbs wants to get back to his feet but Ribeiro is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Ribeiro controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Ribeiro has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Gibbs is proving hard to escape from. Gibbs is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Ribeiro defends well. Ribeiro stays in close to Gibbs's body and controls the position. Ribeiro wants to control from the top but Gibbs keeps moving. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Guil Ribeiro. Ribeiro tries to clinch but Gibbs is having none of it. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Gibbs throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Ribeiro clinches up with Gibbs and pushes him back against the cage. Ribeiro is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath. Gibbs is trying to break the clinch but Ribeiro is controlling him. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Guil Ribeiro dominated that round. That's time! Back to the action!
Gibbs slaps away a takedown attempt from Ribeiro, before circling back to the center of the mat. Gibbs tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Ribeiro swivels and escapes. Ribeiro throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Gibbs's head. A momentary lapse in concentration from Ribeiro enables Gibbs to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Ribeiro manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Gibbs stands up from Ribeiro's guard - Gibbs perhaps looking for a knockout. Ribeiro moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Ribeiro closes the distance and clinches up with Gibbs, looking for a takedown. Ribeiro pushes Gibbs against the cage but Gibbs circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Gibbs pushes Ribeiro up against the cage in a clinch. Still in the clinch, Ribeiro scores with a nice short uppercut. Ribeiro wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Gibbs has him pressed against the cage. Ribeiro is breathing heavily. Ribeiro breaks the clinch.
Gibbs shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Ribeiro's guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gibbs trying to control the position from guard on top but Ribeiro is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Gibbs looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Gibbs tries to stand but Ribeiro is controlling from the bottom. Gibbs drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Gibbs jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Ribeiro controlling the position.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Ribeiro shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Gibbs's guard. Gibbs is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Gibbs wants to stand and escape but Ribeiro is having none of it. Gibbs has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Ribeiro can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Ribeiro postures up.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Ribeiro is stalling in the full guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ribeiro looking to pass the guard. Gibbs tries to land a sweep but no joy. Gibbs has his foot on Ribeiro's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Ribeiro works his way back into a safe position though. Gibbs keeping moving, preventing Ribeiro from controlling successfully. Frank Gibbs overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. Ribeiro postures up.
Ribeiro postures up and lands a big shot to Gibbs's brow. Gibbs has his feet on Ribeiro's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work. Gibbs darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Ribeiro trying to remain calm as Gibbs controls from the top position. Ribeiro stops Gibbs from passing to mount. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ribeiro throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. Ribeiro showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Gibbs.
Ribeiro displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Gibbs. Gibbs tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Ribeiro paws at him with a jab and circles away. Ribeiro moves into the clinch. Gibbs can't get the takedown.

Ribeiro is looking to control Gibbs's arms but Gibbs gets an underhook and turns him. Now Ribeiro has his back to the cage. Gibbs jumps guard.

Both fighters are breathing heavily. Ribeiro is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Ribeiro winds up and cracks Gibbs with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Ribeiro performing his best blanket impression for a moment. Ribeiro is looking to take a break and control but Gibbs is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Gibbs wants to get back to full guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well, if Ribeiro is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Gibbs is staying active underneath Ribeiro, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Ribeiro with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. Ribeiro lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. Ribeiro is trying to control. Gibbs wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
OK we're going to have a standup here. Guil Ribeiro hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. Ribeiro stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Ribeiro wants it to stay on the feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Frank Gibbs. That's going to take a lot out of him. Ribeiro throws a combination. Gibbs tries to block but a couple of punches get through. This has been an exciting period of action! Gibbs fails miserably with a takedown attempt. The fight stays on the outside here - Ribeiro looks like he's thinking about clinching though. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Gibbs. Frank Gibbs seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Ribeiro tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Ribeiro shoots in looking for a takedown. Gibbs tries to sprawl out of it but Ribeiro keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Gibbs manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Gibbs keeps the fight on the outside.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Ribeiro throws a half hearted mid kick. Ribeiro pushes Gibbs up against the cage in a clinch. Ribeiro landing knees to the body.

Gibbs is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Ribeiro pulls him back up using the underhooks. Gibbs is looking to take this one to the mat. Ribeiro tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Gibbs smiles and moves away.
Gibbs has a takedown stuffed. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Ribeiro shoots in but no luck this time.
And that's the end of the fight! Guil Ribeiro comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Ribeiro has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

In favor of your winner, by unanimous decision... Guil Ribeiro! Guil Ribeiro opened up his post fight interview with a scream to camera that he wants a title shot! Whether he deserves the shot will be up to the management of the organization, so I guess he'll have to wait and see.
