PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Alexander Nevsky (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Remy LeBeau (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Nevsky might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Here I go Again by Whitesnake. This should be fireworks!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 21 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Alexander Nevsky!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 11 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Remy LeBeau!
The judges for this bout are Wagner Zegers, Radbod Blank and Daniel Blasius.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
LeBeau is looking to clinch.

LeBeau moves into range and clinches up with Nevsky.
Nevsky is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables LeBeau to keep the fight standing.
LeBeau has Nevsky pressed against the cage, preventing Nevsky from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
LeBeau lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.

LeBeau breaks from the clinch.
Nevsky throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around LeBeau's waist but LeBeau gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Nevsky off to one side.
Nevsky throws a body kick that misses.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Nevsky.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

Nevsky is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. LeBeau knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Nevsky working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

Nevsky prevents LeBeau from escaping the position.
LeBeau really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Nevsky. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Nevsky is putting a hurting on LeBeau here, landing some big shots from side control.
Nevsky scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at LeBeau to see if he's OK.
Nevsky has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Nevsky looking to punish the body of his opponent here but LeBeau is avoiding damage well.

Nevsky looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Nevsky lands a decent elbow from side control.

Nevsky in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
LeBeau on the wrong end of some ground and pound.

Nevsky looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Nevsky sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but LeBeau is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Nevsky goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, LeBeau has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Nevsky but great work by LeBeau.
LeBeau wants to stand but Nevsky has his arm trapped.
Nevsky pushes LeBeau away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, LeBeau gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

Nevsky trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.

Nevsky bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet!
LeBeau tries to clinch up.
LeBeau connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Nevsky takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Nevsky avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
LeBeau scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.
LeBeau wants to clinch.

Nevsky shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Nevsky missing with the ground and pound from half guard.

Nevsky sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. LeBeau defending well though.

Nevsky wants to take a breather but LeBeau is having none of it.

Nevsky is working for a kimura but LeBeau is defending it quite comfortably.
Nice strikes from Nevsky there.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Nevsky thows a huge punch but LeBeau dodges it nicely.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

LeBeau struggling a bit here.
Nevsky creates some space and throws a big elbow, but LeBeau sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.

LeBeau is working to avoid the ground and pound but Nevsky connects with a decent elbow.

Nevsky lands a few punches from side control.

Nevsky is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, LeBeau has escaped the position, nice work there.
LeBeau wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!
LeBeau dodges the ground and pound from Nevsky.
Nevsky working away.
Nevsky tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.
Nevsky works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.
Nevsky throws a strike aimed at the side of LeBeau's head but LeBeau avoids it well.

LeBeau takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Alexander Nevsky overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Nevsky fails to land a wild elbow strike.

Nevsky has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for LeBeau!

LeBeau is rocked!
Nevsky loads up on a couple of big shots to the head that have LeBeau scrambling to escape. He can't get free though and several more unanswered shots from Nevsky land to the head. The referee has no choice but to stop the fight. Nevsky stands and salutes the crowd.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:31 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Alexander Nevsky!
A very excited looking Alexander Nevsky rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
