Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Blind Phaedo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jack Ward (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ward has chosen Converge - No Heroes as his entrance music. Blind Phaedo has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Blind Phaedo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jack Ward!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Stewart Dunkirk and Gwen Towbar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ward shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Phaedo but Phaedo pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Phaedo closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Phaedo lands in his opponent's guard.
Ward is pulling down on Phaedo's head. It's preventing any offense from Phaedo, at least for the moment.
Ward wriggles free and stands up.
Phaedo misses with a wild body shot.
Ward shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Phaedo's guard.
Phaedo throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Phaedo is breathing heavily.

Phaedo is working an open guard so Ward takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Phaedo avoids the head kick by Ward.
Ward tries for a takedown but Phaedo circles away easily
and Phaedo counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Phaedo misses with a knee strike.
Ward takes a knee right on the jaw!
Phaedo tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
Ward wants to break the clinch but can't.
A head punch on the inside from Phaedo fails to land.
Ward goes for a takedown attempt but Phaedo pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Blind Phaedo has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jack Ward.
Phaedo gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Ward.

Ward looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Phaedo is fending him off so far but Ward persists. Nope, Phaedo circles away and we're back to standing.

and Phaedo decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Ward's guard.

Phaedo tries to hold on but Ward postures up.

Ward throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

That was a close round but I would say that Blind Phaedo will probably get the nod.
That's time! Phaedo's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Phaedo closes the distance and clinches up with Ward, looking for a takedown. Phaedo pushes Ward against the cage but Ward circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Jack Ward seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Ward attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.
Phaedo avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

and Phaedo counters with a nice double leg into half guard.

Ward is trying to keep Phaedo in close.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Phaedo shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Ward but Ward pushes him off and we're back to square one.

and Phaedo counters by moving into the clinch.
Ward is trying to stall.
Phaedo misses with a knee strike.
Phaedo jumps into guard, dragging Ward to the mat.
Ward stands up from Phaedo's guard - Ward perhaps looking for a knockout.

Ward wants to clinch
and Phaedo counters with a head kick. That will keep Ward thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!
Ward has his takedown stuffed
and Phaedo counters with a shoot takedown. Ward fights it but they end up in guard.
Ward controls Phaedo momentarily but Phaedo frees himself.
Ward pushes Phaedo off and gets back to his feet.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage!

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Ward is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Phaedo pulls his head out easily.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!
Ward is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Ward throws a leg kick but Phaedo sees it coming and moves out of range.
Ward throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Phaedo's waist but Phaedo gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Ward off to one side.
Ward swats away the attempt to clinch by Phaedo.
Blind Phaedo is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Phaedo looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Ward!

Ward is looking to improve his position but Phaedo isn't that keen on the idea.

Ward tries to lock up and control but Phaedo gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Phaedo jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Ward is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Ward and Phaedo has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Ward slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.

Ward has his hands on Phaedo's head, controlling the position.
Phaedo trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Ward seems keen to control Phaedo's posture.
Phaedo has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Ward trying to keep a closed guard but Phaedo is proving a slippery customer.
Blind Phaedo overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Ward wants to get back to his feet but Phaedo is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Phaedo trying to control the position from guard on top but Ward is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Phaedo is fighting to break Ward's control of his arms but Ward is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
Ward is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Ward is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.
Jack Ward has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Ward jumps guard but Phaedo stands there with Ward around his waist. Ward gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
