The judges for this bout are Damien Edna, Bruno Hogan and Donatello Bradman.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
James tries for a takedown but Thompson sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
James shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
James looks to score with a jab to the body but Thompson is just out of range.
Thompson shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Thompson was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
James can't escape the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Thompson looking to control but James is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
James tries to lock up and control but Thompson gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
James gets back to half guard.
James wants to get back to full guard.
Thompson gets to his feet - back to striking we go!
Thompson drives through with a takedown into guard.
James is working an open guard so Thompson takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Thompson scores with a nice head shot.
James closes the distance and clinches.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Thompson is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
James tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
Thompson breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
James uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Thompson.
Thompson tries to clinch
enabling James to counter with a crisp jab.
James circles to his right before unloading a perfect head kick! Thompson drops to the canvas, hurt badly! James follows Thompson to the ground and unloads with a series of strikes that force the referee to step in and end the fight! This one is all over!
