Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Luke Bryan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Deron Etevem (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Etevem has chosen Vex as his entrance music. Luke Bryan has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bryan tries to score a power double leg takedown but Etevem sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Bryan somewhat.
Etevem uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Bryan.

Etevem scores with a takedown into Bryan's guard.

Etevem drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Bryan manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Etevem has Bryan in his guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Bryan postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.

Etevem is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Etevem working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Bryan doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Bryan manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Bryan lands a nice short elbow.
Etevem avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Bryan.
Bryan is taking a breather. Etevem says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Bryan looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Etevem with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Bryan is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Etevem makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Etevem.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Bryan's corner. There ya go! There ya go!

Etevem is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Bryan's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Bryan's back!

Bryan is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Etevem gets his way!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Etevem shoots in and bounces Bryan off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Bryan can't keep his opponent in guard - Etevem advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

Etevem has his foot on Bryan's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Bryan works his way back into a safe position though.
