Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ari Cavanhas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Demian Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Gracie closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Cavanhas's guard.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Cavanhas wants to control but Gracie passes easily into half guard.

Gracie seems to be looking for submissions.
Gracie seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Cavanhas is looking for a sweep. Gracie is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Well, if Gracie is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Cavanhas is staying active underneath Gracie, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Gracie slows the pace down in half guard.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Demian Gracie.

Gracie thows a huge punch but Cavanhas dodges it nicely.

Gracie seems to be working for a kimura but Cavanhas defends the submission attempt.
Gracie is looking to take a break and control but Cavanhas is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Demian Gracie hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Cavanhas fails to land the takedown.
Cavanhas shoots for a takedown but Gracie saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Cavanhas.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ari Cavanhas. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Cavanhas shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Gracie is trying to defend but Cavanhas finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Gracie is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Gracie is trying to work for a kimura but Cavanhas is defending well.

Demian Gracie has got the better of the ground game so far.
Cavanhas won't allow Gracie to pass to mount.

Gracie is looking to take a break and control but Cavanhas is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Gracie works his way into full mount!
Cavanhas is wriggling around trying to escape.
Gracie wants to take Cavanhas's back here but Cavanhas is holding on to an arm, himself looking to escape.

Cavanhas is controlling an arm, preventing Gracie from taking his back. Although keeping him in mount is no better to be honest.
Gracie wants to stand but Cavanhas is holding on to him, trying to stop him posturing up.
Gracie moves to the back position.
Gracie tries to keep control of the position but Cavanhas is staying busy.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
Cavanhas is trying to get back to his feet but Gracie has full control of the position and if anything, Cavanhas has just worked his way into a worse spot.
Even with his hooks in, Gracie manages to miss with strikes from the back.

Gracie is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Cavanhas has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.

Gracie wants to control but Cavanhas is keeping busy.

Gracie is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Cavanhas defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.

Gracie working for a RNC but it's not happening just yet.
Cavanhas is defending well here and trying to improve his position.

Gracie has the hooks in and he's looking for a rear naked choke here. Cavanhas is defending well but eventually Gracie manages to get an arm under the chin and he's locked on the RNC! Cavanhas has no choice but to tap now! He does! This one is all over!
