Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between John Kimble (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Michael MacRoberts (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kimble kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Ecstasy Of Gold. The crowd seem to be enjoying MacRoberts's choice of entrance music: God Save the Queen by The Sex Pistols. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 5 - 1, fighting out of London, John Kimble!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 16 - 0, fighting out of London, Michael MacRoberts!
The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, Colin Fotheringham and Chris Edwards.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kimble manages to get an easy takedown there - catching MacRoberts on his heels. He'll look to pass MacRoberts's guard now, I'm sure.
MacRoberts avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Kimble trying to control the position from guard on top but MacRoberts is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Kimble controlling from the top position.
Kimble has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Kimble pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. MacRoberts is keeping the position for now.

We're going to have a standup here because John Kimble wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
MacRoberts tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Kimble paws at him with a jab and circles away.

MacRoberts doesn't manage to clinch there - Kimble circles away.
Kimble avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Kimble throws an uppercut from half a mile away. MacRoberts sees it coming and avoids it easily.
MacRoberts looks to score with a jab to the body but Kimble is just out of range.
MacRoberts throws a hook to the side of Kimble's head but Kimble sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Kimble circles away from the clinch attempt.
MacRoberts looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
MacRoberts throws a right and a left that Kimble avoids nicely.
Some bone on bone action there as Kimble checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.

MacRoberts takes a swing at Kimble's ribcage but misses.
MacRoberts throws an ugly left hook that misses

and Kimble counters with a shoot takedown. MacRoberts fights it but they end up in guard.

Kimble controls from within his opponent's guard.
Kimble landing with the ground and pound.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Kimble slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Kimble distracts MacRoberts with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Kimble wants to control from the top but MacRoberts keeps moving.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if MacRoberts can do anything to dispel that myth.
Kimble stops MacRoberts from standing up.

Kimble trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Kimble is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Kimble is looking to work some ground and pound but MacRoberts has wrist control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Kimble showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from MacRoberts.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

The ref stands the fighters back up because John Kimble just wasn't active enough.
A jab from MacRoberts finds it's way through Kimble's defenses.
MacRoberts pulls out of a head kick attempt.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

John Kimble dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


MacRoberts on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Kimble sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.
MacRoberts throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Kimble stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
The fight stays on the outside here - MacRoberts looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
MacRoberts misses with a two punch combination.
MacRoberts fails with an attempt to clinch.
MacRoberts doesn't manage to clinch there - Kimble circles away.
Kimble connects with a body shot.
MacRoberts lands a right hook to the body.
MacRoberts looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
Kimble steps to the side to avoid the strikes from MacRoberts.
Kimble throws a one two combo.
MacRoberts tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Kimble manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

MacRoberts's jab looks to have found its range, popping Kimble under the eye.
MacRoberts connects with a high kick.
Kimble will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Kimble shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has MacRoberts pinned against the cage. MacRoberts gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Kimble jumps guard but MacRoberts stands there with Kimble around his waist. Kimble gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

MacRoberts wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Kimble has him pressed against the cage.

MacRoberts manages to break the clinch.
MacRoberts tests Kimble's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Michael MacRoberts is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Kimble avoids a kick to the body.
Nice defenses there by Kimble.
MacRoberts throws an overhand right that lands on Kimble's shoulder, as Kimble tries to avoid the shot.
MacRoberts throws a jab but it's blocked by Kimble.
MacRoberts lands a nice leg kick that just misses Kimble's sensitive parts.
MacRoberts pulls out of a head kick attempt.
MacRoberts fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
MacRoberts takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.

Kimble thumps MacRoberts with a low kick.

MacRoberts misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Kimble.

MacRoberts rushes Kimble and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Kimble gets control of MacRoberts's arms and successfully pulls guard. Kimble will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
MacRoberts has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Kimble is proving hard to escape from.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Kimble is on top in guard.
Kimble stops MacRoberts from standing up.
Kimble postures up in MacRoberts's guard and throws a big left but MacRoberts blocks it.
This has been an exciting period of action!
MacRoberts has momentary wrist control but Kimble slips an elbow through the middle.
MacRoberts wants to stand up but Kimble is controlling him.
John Kimble overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Kimble throws a big right hand that misses.
Kimble stays in close to MacRoberts's body and controls the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Michael MacRoberts showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Back to the action! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!


Kimble avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
MacRoberts waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Kimble.
Kimble circles away from the clinch attempt.
A nice inside leg kick there by Kimble. That's going to slow MacRoberts down.
Kimble uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from MacRoberts.
Kimble paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Kimble cracks MacRoberts with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
MacRoberts throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

MacRoberts gets caught flat footed, as Kimble shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Kimble sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed MacRoberts's guard.
Kimble is looking to take a break and control but MacRoberts is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Kimble stops MacRoberts from getting back to his feet.

MacRoberts is staying active underneath Kimble, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Kimble misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.

Poor strikes thrown by Kimble there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!

MacRoberts defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Kimble.
Kimble wants to control the pace but MacRoberts is squirming around nicely.
Kimble unloads with some shots from mount but MacRoberts bucks and avoids them well.

Kimble goes for an armbar but MacRoberts turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from MacRoberts.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
