Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Kevin Allen! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jeremy Coleman! The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Allen tests Coleman's chin there with a solid looking shot.
It looks like Jeremy Coleman has been cut. Allen ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Coleman moves away. Allen throws a good cross that connects.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Coleman takes a shot right to the bread basket. Kevin Allen seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Allen jabs Coleman to the body, keeping him at a distance. Coleman looks winded! Allen feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Coleman sprawling to the canvas! Coleman rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Allen finish him?!
Coleman is rocked! Allen lands with a good body shot. Coleman is still on wobbly legs! Can Allen finish him? Coleman avoids the head kick by Allen.
Coleman seems to have recovered his senses.
That's one minute gone in the round. Coleman takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. Allen scores with a leg kick.
This has been an exciting period of action! Allen sends Coleman crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Allen is motioning to the referee to let Coleman up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!
That has opened up Jeremy Coleman's cut even more. Coleman drops his hands momentarily. Allen doesn't need a second invitation, landing a shot to the temple. Coleman staggers and falls to the mat and the ref dives in to save him from any more punishment. Coleman doesn't seem happy with the stoppage but he was done.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:38 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Kevin Allen! Kevin Allen took to the mic in his post fight interview and said 'That loss to Taylor was a fluke. I can beat anyone in the division and deserve a shot at that belt.'.
