Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mister Lonely (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dan Severn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mister Lonely has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the heavyweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Mister Lonely! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
7 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Dan Severn! The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Summer Carpenter and Skip Squint.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Severn gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Lonely counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Lonely thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Severn's head. Lonely is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount! Lonely unloading with bombs! Lonely will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Severn is desperately trying to improve his position but Lonely has a good base and remains in mount. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Lonely throws some wild stikes that Severn manages to avoid easily.
Severn wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Lonely.
Severn is in a horrible position here. Lonely smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Lonely lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.

That's one minute gone in the round. Lonely lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Lonely lands a nice shot to the head. Lonely landing strikes from the mount and Severn is in trouble! The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Severn slips a leg in and gets back to half guard. Lonely has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Severn taking some punishment here, with Lonely in his half guard. Lonely not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Severn is looking to improve his position.
Severn blocking the ground and pound attempt from Lonely. Severn wants to get back to full guard. Lonely is trying to control the action in half guard but Severn is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Lonely is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Lonely throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Lonely throwing shots but Severn is blocking nicely. Lonely thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Severn's head. Lonely lands strikes from half guard. Severn is pressing down on Lonely's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Severn keeping moving, preventing Lonely from controlling successfully. Lonely postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Lonely throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Severn works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Severn is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Lonely distracts Severn with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Severn is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Lonely scoring with some ground and pound. Lonely postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Severn throws his legs up looking for a submission but Lonely uses it to pass to side control.
Lonely working the ground and pound from side control. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Severn takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Lonely tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Lonely has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Lonely looks up at the clock and then as Severn takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Lonely smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Severn parries the strikes from Lonely easily there. Lonely is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Severn to escape.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Lonely advances nicely into full mount. Lonely lands a big shot there that rocks Severn but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Lonely lands a big elbow. Lonely connects with a bit shot that sees Severn covering up! More strikes from Lonely and the referee jumps in to stop the fight! Lonely is our winner by TKO!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:18 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Mister Lonely! Mister Lonely retains his heavyweight title!
