Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Erik Dark!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
24 - 38 - 0, fighting out of London, Iam Getcha!
The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Dillan Fox and Ian Loll.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Getcha scores with a nice body kick.
The fight stays on the outside here - Dark looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Getcha tries to sprawl but Dark drives through with a takedown into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Dark looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Dark is looking to take a break and control but Getcha is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Getcha is looking to improve his position.

Getcha is not content to let Dark control the position.
Dark stops Getcha from getting back to his feet.
Dark is looking to stand up but he'll have to free his leg first. Instead, Getcha manages to get to full guard.
Dark wants to control from the top but Getcha keeps moving.

Dark drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Getcha manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Dark has Getcha in his guard.
Dark pulls Getcha in close to his closed guard and prevents Getcha from doing any damage or advancing position.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Getcha accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Getcha decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Dark, up you get!

Getcha scores with a one two! Dark had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
Getcha changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Dark looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Getcha gets to mount! Dark was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly.
Getcha lands a heavy elbow.
Dark working to try and regain half guard.
Dark's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.
Getcha avoids the attempt from Dark to control.

Getcha cracks Dark with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Dark is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.
Getcha is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Dark can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

Dark knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Getcha on the ground.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Dark tries to score a power double leg takedown but Getcha sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Dark somewhat.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Dark enables Getcha to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Dark manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Getcha won't allow Dark to get back to his feet.
Getcha working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Iam Getcha has got the better of the ground game so far.
Getcha drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Getcha jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Dark is looking to stand up but Getcha isn't so interested in that idea.

Dark is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
