Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Friday gets caught flat footed, as Writer shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Friday tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Writer throwing strikes but missing.

Writer is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Writer tries to free his leg and advance position but Friday is retaining full guard.
Friday is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Friday has his foot on Writer's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Writer works his way back into a safe position though.

Friday working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Writer.
Writer tries to free his leg and advance position but Friday is retaining full guard.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
A decent looking cross lands there for Writer.

Friday gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Friday throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Writer blocks it with crossed arms.

Friday escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Rick Friday seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

A punch combination from Friday misses.
Writer misses with a looping left.
Writer throws a right hand that Friday ducks under and follows up with a left that Friday also avoids with ease.
Writer throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Friday sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Friday shoots in but Writer avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Writer just misses with a punch to the body.
Friday has his takedown stuffed
and Writer counters with a right hand to the body.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Friday is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Writer lands a really nice looking cross but Friday seems unphased.
Friday bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Writer looks to land a left hand but Friday moved out of range nicely.
Friday on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
Friday looks gassed!

Writer fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Friday sprawls well initially but Writer persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Writer is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Friday is just riding it out for now. Writer eventually gives up the hold.

Friday misses with some strikes from the bottom.
Writer passes to full mount!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Friday can't escape the position.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Writer has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Friday's face.
Friday keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Friday is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

Writer is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Friday can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Writer landing shots from mount.
Friday manages to regain half guard. Good work.
Writer is looking to advance position but Friday won't allow it.

Friday looking for submissions off his back.

Writer is working for a kimura here but Friday manages to reverse the position and he's now in Writer's guard.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Friday advances to half guard.
Writer tries to get to full guard but Friday has control of the leg.
Friday passes to full mount!
Friday scores with a couple of good head shots there.
Writer in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head.
Writer is working to get back to half guard.
Friday landing strikes from the mount and Writer is in trouble!
Friday prevents Writer from getting the reversal.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Friday quickly switches position and commits to an armbar! It's a big risk for Friday but it's paid off an Writer is forced to tap! Nice work by Friday.
