The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Silva blocks a head kick by Boyd.
Some bone on bone action there as Silva checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
Boyd fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
A head kick misses from Boyd.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Boyd.
Boyd tries for a takedown but Silva sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Woodrow Huckleberry Tiberius Boyd. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Silva feints a jab promting Boyd to slip. Silva then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Boyd slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Boyd has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Silva is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Boyd is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Silva crunches a lovely knee into Boyd's ribcage.
