Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ground N Pound (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Richard Pounder (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Richard Pounder will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Ground N Pound!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Richard Pounder!
The judges for this bout are Arvi Lind, Johanna Lukiainen and Marco Blurström.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
N Pound misses with a takedown attempt

and Pounder counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Pounder thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Pounder forces his way into half guard.

Pounder is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Pounder is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, N Pound has managed to free his arm - good work.

Pounder is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and N Pound defends it well.
N Pound regains full guard. Nicely done.
Pounder stands and throws N Pound's legs to the side, diving into side control.
N Pound throws a couple of strikes even though he's not really in a good position to do so.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

N Pound is looking to take a break and control but Pounder is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

N Pound gets to mount! Pounder was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly.

Pounder swings around for an armbar but N Pound sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Pounder's guard.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Richard Pounder showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!


N Pound shoots in looking for a takedown. Pounder tries to sprawl out of it but N Pound keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Pounder manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
N Pound doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Pounder counters with a nice double leg into half guard.

Pounder looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
N Pound manages to get to full guard.

Pounder drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Pounder jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Pounder is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

N Pound seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Pounder does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

N Pound takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
N Pound looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Pounder with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Pounder is looking for a sweep. N Pound is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

N Pound working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
