Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Toddy Ruch! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Timur Barlas Tamerlan! The judges for this bout are Ivan Kurochkin, Valeri Chadov and Igor Prikhodko.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Tamerlan throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Ruch tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Tamerlan is in Ruch's guard. Tamerlan controls from within his opponent's guard. Tamerlan postures up in Ruch's guard and throws a big left but Ruch blocks it. Tamerlan throws a big right hand that misses. Tamerlan got a little sloppy there for a moment and Ruch has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Tamerlan has managed to get both his arms back between Ruch's legs - danger averted. Tamerlan chips away with some ground and pound. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Tamerlan postures up in Ruch's guard and throws a big left but Ruch blocks it. Tamerlan postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Tamerlan works over Ruch with some ground and pound from guard. Tamerlan wants to control from the top but Ruch keeps moving. Tamerlan must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Tamerlan's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Ruch keeping moving, preventing Tamerlan from controlling successfully. Ruch looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

That's one minute gone in the round. Ruch throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Ruch is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Tamerlan defends well. Ruch is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Tamerlan is aware though and is defending well. Tamerlan scores with a decent looking elbow strike. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Tamerlan throws a big elbow that misses. Ruch keeping full guard, as Tamerlan tries to pass. Tamerlan pushes down on Ruch's leg and manages to get into half guard. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Ruch keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Ruch looking for submissions off his back. Tamerlan not landing any meaningful shots this time.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Ruch has hold of Tamerlan's hands but Tamerlan slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. Ruch is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Tamerlan's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Tamerlan's back! The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Tamerlan holding both Ruch 's hands and preventing any damage. Ruch has managed to slip his arm under Tamerlan's chin. This could be all over... yep, Tamerlan is tapping out! Submission win for Ruch.
