Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
13 - 3 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Xavier Zoolander!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
10 - 13 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Hector Barbosa!
The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, Hugh Johnson and Winston Howard.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Barbosa dodges the punch combination from Zoolander.
Zoolander throws a leg kick which misses Barbosa's front leg but catches the back leg as Barbosa tries to avoid it.
Zoolander throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Barbosa stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Barbosa shoots in and gets a takedown into Zoolander's guard.
Barbosa throwing strikes but missing.
Zoolander wants to get back to his feet but Barbosa is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Barbosa missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Barbosa throws a strike but Zoolander rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Barbosa looking for a guillotine here but Zoolander defends easily.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Barbosa looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Barbosa is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Zoolander stands up and waves to Barbosa to follow him.
Nice jab there from Zoolander.
Barbosa shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Zoolander's guard.
Barbosa has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Zoolander is proving hard to escape from.
Zoolander has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Barbosa off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.
Zoolander lands with a good body shot.
Zoolander scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
Barbosa moves into the clinch.
Zoolander is trying to break the clinch but Barbosa is controlling him.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Zoolander breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Barbosa tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Zoolander manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Barbosa avoids the head kick by Zoolander.
Zoolander lands a nice looking body shot.
Zoolander connects with a high kick.
It looks like Hector Barbosa has been cut.
Barbosa shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Zoolander pinned against the cage. Zoolander gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Barbosa looks to land a left hand but Zoolander moved out of range nicely.
Zoolander throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Zoolander plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
Zoolander comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Barbosa is defended easily by Zoolander.
Zoolander rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Barbosa moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Zoolander scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
Zoolander gets caught flat footed, as Barbosa shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Barbosa drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Zoolander dives on top into guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round.
Zoolander wants to get up but he can't break Barbosa's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Zoolander stands and steps away. Barbosa gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Zoolander scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
Zoolander explodes with a nice body kick and back out of range. Nice work.
Zoolander dips to his left and cracks Barbosa with an uppercut!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Xavier Zoolander dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Hector Barbosa's cut.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Zoolander throws a series of punches but Barbosa moves out of range.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Barbosa throws a nice outside leg kick.
Zoolander lunges at Barbosa with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Barbosa's hand.
Zoolander lands a jab to the nose.
Zoolander scores with a shot to the body.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Barbosa is defended easily by Zoolander.
Barbosa tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Zoolander swivels and escapes.
Zoolander displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Barbosa.
Xavier Zoolander has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Hector Barbosa.
Barbosa sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.
Zoolander connects with a solid leg kick.
Zoolander digs a good body shot into Barbosa's ribs.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Barbosa takes a head kick and keeps coming.
Barbosa looks up at the clock. Bad move! Zoolander lands a right hand from hell, dropping Barbosa. Zoolander pounces and finishes the fight with a flurry of punches and elbows.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:50 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Xavier Zoolander!
