PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Haka Maka (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sting Steiner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Maka comes to the cage accompanied by Island Music. On his way into the cage it seems that Haka Maka has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Haka Maka seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 29 - 18 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Sting Steiner!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Frank Antenori and Jack Bonds.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Maka has a takedown stuffed.
Steiner throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Steiner tries to bum rush Maka with a series of wild strikes but Maka uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Steiner fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Maka, pushing him back against the cage.
Steiner misses with a body punch.
Steiner softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage.
Steiner misses with some punches.
Steiner gets underhooks to prevent Maka's takedown attempt.

Steiner manages to break the clinch.
No joy there for Maka, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Maka shoots in looking for a takedown. Steiner tries to sprawl out of it but Maka keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Steiner manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Haka Maka. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Steiner tries to clinch up but Maka circles away and keeps his distance.
The fight stays on the outside here - Steiner looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Steiner lands with a kick to the ribs.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Steiner breaks from the clinch.
Steiner doesn't manage to clinch there - Maka circles away.
Steiner wants to clinch up but Maka keeps it at a distance.
Maka swats away the attempt to clinch by Steiner.
Steiner closes the distance but Maka moves to the side
and Steiner takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
A slapping body kick lands there for Steiner.
A left and a right from Steiner both land. Nice combination.

Steiner clinches with his opponent.
Steiner lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the cage.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Nice body punch from Steiner - that landed with a thud.
Maka is breathing heavily.
Steiner lands a hook that snaps the head of Maka backwards.

Maka is rocked!
Nice body punch from Steiner.
Oh Maka is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
A short body shot lands from Steiner as the two fighters clinch.

Steiner escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Steiner closes the distance and pushes Maka back into the cage.
Steiner unloads with a big right hand that wobbles Maka! He's leaning against the cage trying to keep his feet but Steiner is unloading with more strikes now! Maka drops to his knees and the referee stops the fight for a TKO!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Sting Steiner!
During a confident post fight interview, Sting Steiner thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
