Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the middleweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Abe Cooper! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Glyn Lennox! The judges for this bout are Saam Ante, Patrick Alders and Aafke Stam.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Lennox gets a clinch. The fighters are pressed against the ropes, as the pace of the fight slows. Lennox tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Cooper avoids it. Lennox is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Cooper is defending well for now. Cooper is working for a takedown up against the ropes. He can't get it on this occasion though. Lennox should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. Cooper stalling the fight.
With the fighters up against the ropes, Lennox throws an elbow but misses. Lennox working some nice short punches in the clinch.
It looks like Abe Cooper has been cut. A short uppercut from Lennox. Cooper tries to pull guard but Lennox won't allow it.
Cooper is trying to break the clinch but Lennox is controlling him. Lennox lands a nice uppercut. Lennox lands with a good tight uppercut to the head. Cooper dodges an elbow strike from Lennox.
Lennox lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lennox trying to land knees to the body.
Lennox pulls Cooper into guard.
Cooper wants to get up but he can't break Lennox's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Lennox really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Cooper. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Lennox wants to get back to his feet but Cooper is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Cooper advances to half guard. Cooper wants to control but Lennox is keeping him busy. Cooper is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. Cooper stops Lennox from getting back to his feet.
Cooper in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Lennox tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Cooper!
