Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Steven Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mouritz Opperman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Steven Smith had real problems making weight for this fight. After initially coming in at 186.6lbs, he had two hours to make the official fight weight. He made it but it will have taken a lot out of him to cut those extra few pounds. On his way into the ring it seems that Steven Smith has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Steven Smith seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

The judges for this bout are Wagner Zegers, Albert Achterberg and Radbod Blank.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smith on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
Opperman closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Smith quickly recovers to half guard.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

Opperman lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
It looks like Steven Smith has been cut.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Smith is on top in guard.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Smith is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Smith prevents Opperman from getting back to his feet.

Smith fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Opperman avoids it really well and circles away.

Opperman throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
The crowd cheers as Opperman lands an impressive looking overhand right. Smith doesn't seem phased though.
