Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Dagoth Ur!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Frank Reynolds!
The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Franklyn Lucas and Columbo Gatti.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Reynolds throws a right and a left that both miss.
Ur stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Reynolds.
Ur throws a right and a left that Reynolds avoids nicely.
Ur fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Reynolds avoids it really well and circles away.

Ur gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Reynolds to score an easy takedown into full guard.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Reynolds trying to control but Ur is working from the bottom.
Reynolds working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

Reynolds drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Ur manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Reynolds has Ur in his guard.
Ur sitting in guard here, content to control.

Reynolds wants to get back to his feet but Ur is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Ur pushing down on Reynolds's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
Reynolds wants to get back to full guard.
Reynolds holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now.
Ur is looking to stall here but Reynolds recovers full guard.
Reynolds is pulling down on Ur's head. It's preventing any offense from Ur, at least for the moment.

Reynolds lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Ur!
Ur suckers Reynolds into throwing a sloppy strike and uses the momentum to reverse the position beautifully! Ur is now in Reynolds's guard!

Reynolds really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Ur. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Ur is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Reynolds!
Ur tries to control but Reynolds wriggling away.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Reynolds can do anything to dispel that myth.
Reynolds is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

Ur working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet.
Ur trying to control but Reynolds is having none of it.
Ur lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

That was a close round but I would say that Dagoth Ur will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Reynolds moves in looking to clinch but Ur pushes him off.
Ur shoots in but no luck this time.
Reynolds pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Reynolds is looking to clinch.

Reynolds drives through with a takedown into guard.
Ur controls Reynolds momentarily but Reynolds frees himself.

Ur had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Reynolds defends it easily.
Ur manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Ur working away from the top, dropping strikes.

Reynolds is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Ur controlling from the full mount.
Ur's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Ur looking to control but Reynolds is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Reynolds's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.

Ur tries to control but Reynolds wriggling away.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Reynolds keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Ur wants to control the pace but Reynolds is squirming around nicely.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Ur is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Reynolds can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

Ur is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Reynolds is surviving well by controlling Ur's body position as best he can.
Ur cracks Reynolds with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

The fight stays on the outside here - Reynolds looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Reynolds tries to keep at a distance but Ur has taken the fight into the clinch.
Reynolds tries to score a body lock takedown but Ur shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Reynolds is working for takedown but Ur is calmly controlling the position for now.

Reynolds blocks the strikes from Ur.
Ur is trying to maintain the position but Reynolds is very close to passing his half guard.
Reynolds stops Ur from getting back to his feet.
Reynolds wants to free his trapped foot but Ur is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Reynolds throws a strike but Ur rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Reynolds takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Ur wants to stand but Reynolds is controlling his posture from full guard.

Reynolds seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Ur is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Ur works a leg free and moves into half guard.

Ur is working for a guillotine from mount but Reynolds frees his head quite easily.

Ur goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Reynolds turns into him and now he's in Ur's guard.
Ur manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Reynolds manages to get himself to full guard.

Ur looks to land a combination but Reynolds avoids it well.
Reynolds rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Ur moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Reynolds tries to clinch but Ur moves out of range.
Ur defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Reynolds.
Dagoth Ur has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Frank Reynolds.
A looping hook to the body misses from Ur. Reynolds does a little dance to reset his feet.
Ur tries to clinch but Reynolds moves out of range.
Reynolds defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Ur.
Ur throws a right and a left that Reynolds avoids nicely.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Ur looks for a takedown but Reynolds sprawls well.

Ur closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Frank Reynolds has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Dagoth Ur is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Ur drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Reynolds gets the underhooks and prevents it.

And that's the end of the fight!
Dagoth Ur showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Ur, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
