PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ian McDunn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Georges St Plitter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). McDunn comes to the cage accompanied by Lost In Forever-P.O.D.. St Plitter has chosen Sans Pression - Numero 1 as his entrance music. Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Ian McDunn!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Georges St Plitter!
The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, Phil Schofield and William Gold.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
St Plitter tries to clinch but McDunn moves out of range.
St Plitter tries for a takedown but McDunn circles away easily

and McDunn counters with a combination of strikes to the head and body that crumple St Plitter!


St Plitter is rocked!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with McDunn in particular looking to stall.
McDunn trying to pass the guard but St Plitter defending well.
St Plitter trying to control from the bottom.
McDunn throwing shots but St Plitter is blocking nicely.
St Plitter tries to get to full guard but McDunn has control of the leg.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
St Plitter is in trouble now - McDunn has advanced to mount!

McDunn wants to finish this one by submission but St Plitter is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from McDunn.
McDunn tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
St Plitter tries to hold on but McDunn pushes him away.
St Plitter is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.
McDunn landing punches.

McDunn looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.
St Plitter keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
McDunn looking to control but St Plitter is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.

McDunn has hold of St Plitter's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and St Plitter manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
McDunn can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as St Plitter is looking to escape.
McDunn controlling his opponent.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
McDunn wants to control the pace but St Plitter is squirming around nicely.
St Plitter has given up his back - I don’t know if this is a deliberate ploy to try and escape or if he is just struggling down there.
St Plitter looking to stop the rear naked choke attempt by controlling the hands.
McDunn throwing wild punches that miss their target.
I would not like to be St Plitter right now.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

McDunn is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. St Plitter defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.
McDunn really has the hooks in deep now - there seems like no escape for St Plitter.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

McDunn is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but St Plitter has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ian McDunn dominated that round.
That's time! Back to the action!


McDunn connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between St Plitter's hands.
A head kick misses from St Plitter.
Georges St Plitter seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
McDunn misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
St Plitter throws a combination that misses
and McDunn counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
McDunn tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
St Plitter tries for a takedown but McDunn circles away easily
letting McDunn counter with a right hand.
St Plitter is still on wobbly legs! Can McDunn finish him?
St Plitter throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and McDunn counters with a beautiful right hand that knocks St Plitter out cold! What a finish! McDunn is going crazy, running around the mat, summersaulting off the corner posts and screaming into the cameras. Something tells me he's pretty happy!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:44 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Ian McDunn!
Ian McDunn decided to hype himself up post fight. It was going well but he went on about it a bit too long and the crowd turned on him a little.
