PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jack Talbot (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Goran Lovric (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lovric has chosen Eminem feat. Ludacris - Second Chance as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A jab from Lovric misses.
Lovric closes the distance but Talbot moves to the side

and Talbot counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Talbot.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Lovric wants to stand but Talbot is controlling the position.
Talbot has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Jack Talbot.

Lovric connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Talbot pivots, looking for a leg kick but Lovric is out of range and Talbot settles back down.

and Talbot counters with a single leg into guard. Lovric didn't expect that.
Lovric wants to stand up but Talbot is controlling him.
Talbot wants to get up but he can't break Lovric's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Talbot won't allow Lovric to get back to his feet.
Lovric is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.

Jack Talbot has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Lovric tries to bum rush Talbot with a series of wild strikes but Talbot uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

and Talbot decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Lovric's guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Lovric wants to stand and escape but Talbot is having none of it.

The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

We're going to have a standup here because Jack Talbot wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.

Talbot wants to get up but he can't break Lovric's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Talbot will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Talbot is breathing heavily.
Lovric is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Jack Talbot wasn't doing enough on the ground.
Lovric tries to bum rush Talbot with a series of wild strikes but Talbot uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Lovric tries to clinch up against the ropes, rushing in to close the distance. Talbot manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Lovric fails to land with a series of punches.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Jack Talbot will probably get the nod.

Lovric is looking to escape but he's done so without protecting himself and Talbot manages to counter with a nice rear naked choke! Lovric is in trouble and he's forced to tap!
