Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Richard Callaghan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Andrew Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
26 - 15 - 1, fighting out of New York, Richard Callaghan! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
15 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Andrew Jones! The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Yves DeLean and Steve Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jones closes the distance but Callaghan moves to the side and Callaghan counters with a lovely straight right hand! Callaghan throws a leg kick but Jones moved away. A big left from Jones misses. Callaghan misses with a hook. Both fighters circling a little - Jones finishes the exchange with a kick to the body. Callaghan works the jab nicely. Jones fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Callaghan manages to avoid it. Jones has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Callaghan. Nice shot by Callaghan. Callaghan scores with a hook. Jones pushes Callaghan away with a front kick. This has been an exciting period of action! Callaghan throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Jones sees it coming and avoids it easily. Jones moves away from the strike by Callaghan. Jones stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Callaghan. Callaghan lands a lovely overhand right.
That's one minute gone in the round. Callaghan ducks under a wild hook from Jones. Callaghan throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Callaghan loads up on a big right hand but Jones slips the punch. Jones's corner calls for a 1-2. Jones obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range. Jones misses with a two punch combination.
Jones uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Callaghan.
Jones throws a half hearted mid kick. Richard Callaghan seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. A big right from Callaghan misses. Callaghan tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Jones manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Jones tries to clinch there but Callaghan circles away.
Callaghan scores with a nice strike. Jones misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Callaghan.
Richard Callaghan is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. A punch lands to the side of Jones 's head but he takes it in his stride. Jones dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Callaghan darts in trying to clinch and Jones counters with a nice double leg into side control. Callaghan won't be happy with that. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's two minutes gone in the round. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. Callaghan is not content to let Jones control the position. Callaghan dodges the ground and pound from Jones. Jones tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Jones taking a break here but Callaghan is having none of it and regains half guard. Callaghan is looking to improve his position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jones wants to pass to mount but Callaghan is defending the position. Callaghan keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Jones thows a huge punch but Callaghan dodges it nicely.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Callaghan is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Jones not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Jones is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Callaghan wants to improve his position but Jones is controlling well.
Callaghan wants to control but Jones is keeping busy and won't allow it. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Callaghan avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Jones. Callaghan has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Jones is working away from the top position though. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Andrew Jones dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Jones fails with a takedown attempt. Callaghan dips to his left and cracks Jones with an uppercut! Jones thows a leg kick but Callaghan checks it and Callaghan counters with a body kick. Jones defending well as Callaghan loads up on a big left hand. Callaghan stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush. Callaghan lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head. Callaghan keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Callaghan swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Jones. Callaghan changes levels and scores with a jab to the body. Callaghan scores with a punch to the head. Callaghan misses with a right hand and Jones counters with a takedown into side control. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Jones postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.

That's one minute gone in the round. Jones is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Callaghan will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already. Callaghan tries to bench press Jones off him but Jones keeps the position. Callaghan regains half guard, as Jones was trying to land strikes. Jones performing his best blanket impression for a moment. Jones is thwarting Callaghan's attempts to control the position. Jones trying to control from Callaghan's half guard. Callaghan has other ideas though and has regained full guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Callaghan bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Jones's guard. Callaghan postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Callaghan lands a couple of digs. Jones tries to land a sweep but no joy. Andrew Jones has got the better of the ground game so far. Callaghan content to stall in guard here. Jones not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Jones is looking for a triangle but Callaghan pushes his legs off easily.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Callaghan loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Jones working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Callaghan. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Jones is on top in guard.
Callaghan has his hands on Jones's head, controlling the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jones throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Callaghan works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Jones stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Callaghan swivels though and keeps the full guard. Jones trying to control but Callaghan is working from the bottom. Jones working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Callaghan utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Jones is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Callaghan is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Callaghan has escaped and now he's on top! There's a bit of a scramble here and now Jones is on top in guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Callaghan trying to control the position.
Callaghan looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Jones throwing strikes from guard but Callaghan blocks nicely. Callaghan keeping moving, preventing Jones from controlling successfully. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Callaghan is pulling down on Jones's head. It's preventing any offense from Jones, at least for the moment. Jones is looking to pass into half guard but Callaghan pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Callaghan is in guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close second round but Andrew Jones will probably get the nod - 10:9. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

Callaghan ducks under a wild hook from Jones. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Jones. Callaghan lands an overhand right. Jones slips under a jab from Callaghan. Callaghan connects with a good right hand that stumbles Jones. Jones circles away out of range and recomposes himself. Jones blocks a jab. Callaghan stuffs the takedown attempt from Jones. Jones gets slowly back to his feet. Jones tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Callaghan paws at him with a jab and circles away. Callaghan looking to land some kicks to the body here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Callaghan throws a big shot that misses. Callaghan's jab looks to have found its range, popping Jones under the eye. Callaghan lands a jab. Jones on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those. Jones defending well as Callaghan loads up on a big left hand. Callaghan lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head. Jones tries to work over Callaghan's front leg with a kick but Callaghan checks it. Callaghan misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Jones.
Jones ducks down and throws a hook to the body. Callaghan darts in and out, connecting with a jab. Jones throws the kick towards the body but Callaghan avoids it. Jones throws a series of punches but Callaghan avoids them all with ease.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Jones takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. A big left from Callaghan misses. Callaghan lands a body shot.
Callaghan connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Jones momentarily.
This has been an exciting period of action! Jones avoids a kick to the body.
Callaghan tries a low kick but Jones avoids it. Callaghan dips to his left and cracks Jones with an uppercut! Jones defending well as Callaghan loads up on a big left hand. Jones takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Jones tries to work over Callaghan's front leg with a kick but Callaghan checks it. Jones lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt. Callaghan misses the jab. Jones fails with an attempt to clinch.
Callaghan leaves Jones with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Richard Callaghan has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Andrew Jones.
That's three minutes gone in the round. A shot to the liver by Callaghan. Beautiful body shot. A thudding body kick lands there by Callaghan!
Nice shot by Callaghan. Callaghan throws the left hand but Jones avoids the punch easily. Jones misses with a two punch combination.
Callaghan catches Jones with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong! Richard Callaghan is winning the standup battle so far. Callaghan throws a poor cross that misses
and Jones counters with a takedown into side control. Jones working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter. Jones trying to control the position but Callaghan is working away. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Jones throws a strike aimed at the side of Callaghan's head but Callaghan avoids it well.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Jones tries to advance position but instead Callaghan slips a leg back in to half guard. Callaghan moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Jones passes into half guard. Callaghan makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Callaghan. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Callaghan tries to land a sweep but no joy. Richard Callaghan has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Callaghan is trying to control the position from the bottom.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Richard Callaghan. I think Jones has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
