PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Frank Martin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jamie Gillis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gillis has chosen I Don't Feel Like Dancing - Scissor Sisters as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 24 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Frank Martin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 22 - 13 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jamie Gillis!
The judges for this bout are , Jack Bonds and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gillis shoots for a double leg takedown but Martin sprawls well. He's pushed Gillis's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Gillis throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Martin tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Gillis is in Martin's guard.

Gillis avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Martin is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Gillis jumps into side control!

Martin ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Gillis moves away.
Frank Martin has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Gillis shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Gillis was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Gillis tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Gillis has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
