Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tatonka Trip (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jon Doe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tatonka Trip has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Tatonka Trip!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jon Doe !
The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Yasuomi Hirokawa and Shigeki Sano.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Doe darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Trip moves into full guard.
Doe trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Trip is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
Doe wants to control from the top but Trip keeps moving.
Trip controls Doe momentarily but Doe frees himself.
Trip is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Tatonka Trip has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Trip throws a head kick but Doe moves out of range.
Doe circles away from the clinch attempt.
Doe tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Doe tries to clinch but Trip is having none of it.
Trip swinging wildly here.

Doe shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Doe showed some decent athleticism there.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Trip misses with some strikes from the bottom.

Trip wants to control but Doe is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Trip is in a bad position, trying to hold on for dear life but he is really struggling to maintain any sort of control.
Trip is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Doe is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Trip makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Trip.
Doe wants to stand but Trip has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Doe controlling from the top position.

Trip is trying to control the position from the bottom.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Trip misses with a takedown attempt

and Doe counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Doe .
Doe content to stall in guard here.
Trip throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
Trip on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Trip tries to get out of the position.
Doe is working Trip over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Doe wants to control from the top but Trip keeps moving.
Doe is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Jon Doe was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Trip doesn't manage to clinch there - Doe circles away.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Nice sprawl there from Doe as Trip shoots in.

Doe shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Trip is breathing heavily.
Doe looking to pass the guard.
Doe postures up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Trip wants to stand up but Doe is controlling him.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Trip really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Doe stops Trip from standing up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jon Doe dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Doe is looking to clinch but Trip is avoiding it.

Trip tries to clinch but Doe is having none of it.
Trip shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Doe counters with a nice double leg into guard.

Doe must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Trip controls Doe momentarily but Doe frees himself.
Doe really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Trip. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Trip wants to stand but Doe is controlling the position.
Doe pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Trip is keeping the position for now.

Doe scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
Trip keeping moving, preventing Doe from controlling successfully.

Doe blocks a head kick by Trip.
Trip shoots in but Doe avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Doe bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Trip is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Doe off and has taken his back!
I really don't envy Doe right now.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Trip trying desperately to keep hold of the dominant position.
Doe controlling the position well but he knows he's in a bad position.

Doe wants to control his opponent's hands but Trip gets his hands free.
Doe is trying to break free.
Doe trying to control but not successfully.
Doe covering up well under a barage of strikes.
I really don't envy Doe right now.
Trip will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Trip really has the hooks in deep now - there seems like no escape for Doe .
Doe looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment.

Trip has the hooks in. Doe is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.
Doe turns into Trip and is now in his guard.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Doe stops Trip from standing up.
Doe is looking to stand up but Trip won't let him.
Jon Doe has got the better of the ground game so far.
Doe engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Doe misses with a body shot.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jon Doe showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!


Trip takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.

Trip closes the distance and clinches.
Trip working some nice short punches in the clinch.
Trip tries for a takedown. No joy.
Doe is trying to pull guard but Trip turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.

Trip has his hands on Doe 's head, controlling the position.
Doe won't allow Trip to sweep him here.
Doe wants to get up but he can't break Trip's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Doe throws a big elbow that misses.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Jon Doe .

and Doe counters with a single leg into guard. Trip didn't expect that.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Doe is looking to stand up but Trip won't let him.
Trip looking to hit a scissor sweep but Doe is one step ahead there.
Doe would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Doe is looking to work some ground and pound but Trip has wrist control.

Horrible takedown by Trip or perhaps it was just good defense by Doe which made him look bad.

Doe trying to control the position from guard on top but Trip is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Doe is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Jon Doe hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Doe will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Doe changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Trip looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Doe in side control lands a decent elbow.
Doe advances to full mount.
Doe lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Trip keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Tatonka Trip has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Jon Doe is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
