Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
18 - 13 - 1, fighting out of Helsinki, Karl Kunnas!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
14 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Zhijing Wang!
The judges for this bout are Matti Vanhoillinen, Roosa Järviläinen and Marco Blurström.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Wang.
Kunnas fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Wang manages to avoid it.
Kunnas scores with a decent looking hook.
Kunnas's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Kunnas duly obliges.
It looks like Zhijing Wang has been cut.
Kunnas throws the left hand but Wang avoids the punch easily.
Kunnas misses with a hook.
Wang throws a leg kick
and Kunnas counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Kunnas moves out of range as Wang throws a body kick.
Wang throws a low kick but it's checked well by Kunnas.
Wang throws a push kick but Kunnas slaps the foot to one side.
A slow jab from Kunnas misses its intended target.
Wang throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Kunnas was covering up waiting for the punch and Wang finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Wang wants to control from the top but Kunnas keeps moving.
Wang wants to pass the guard but Kunnas is keeping the position.
Kunnas is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Wang accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Kunnas might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Wang pushing down on Kunnas's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
Wang wants to pass the guard but Kunnas is defending well.

Wang looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Kunnas is staying active underneath Wang, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Wang is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.
The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Zhijing Wang wasn't active enough on the ground.
Kunnas swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Wang throws a body kick that misses.
Wang with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Kunnas jabs Wang right on the nose. Wang blinks but takes it well.

Wang lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.

Kunnas throws a series of punches but Wang moves out of range.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Kunnas throws a leg kick but Wang sees it coming and moves out of range.

The fighters circle momentarily. Kunnas darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
A shot to the liver by Kunnas. Beautiful body shot.
Wang throws a leg kick but Kunnas moved away.
Wang has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Kunnas finds it's way round the side to connect with Wang's head.
Good leg kick by Wang there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.

Kunnas scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.

Wang has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Kunnas.
Kunnas connects with a looping right hand.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Wang thows a body kick. Kunnas tries to catch it but that hurt him.

Wang throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Kunnas's head.
Kunnas avoids a low kick by using good footwork.

and Kunnas counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Wang thinking.
Wang lands with a kick to the temple. Kunnas shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
Kunnas throws a shot to the body.
Kunnas throws a lazy right hand but Wang sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Kunnas throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Kunnas throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Kunnas is looking to score with low kicks.
Wang throws a low kick but Kunnas avoids it.
Kunnas takes a swing at Wang's ribcage but misses.
Wang fails to land the takedown.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Some bone on bone action there as Kunnas checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
Wang manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Kunnas on his heels. He'll look to pass Kunnas's guard now, I'm sure.
Wang working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Wang loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Kunnas pulls Wang in close to prevent any damage.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Wang throws some wild stikes that Kunnas manages to avoid easily.

Kunnas tries to lock up and control but Wang gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Wang misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

That was a close second round but I would say that Karl Kunnas will probably get the nod.

Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!
Wang dives in and grabs Kunnas's left leg, looking for a takedown. Kunnas pushes down on Wang's head and hops out.
Kunnas moves out of range as Wang throws a body kick.
Kunnas catches Wang with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!

and Kunnas counters with a slapping leg kick.

Wang throws a leg kick which misses Kunnas's front leg but catches the back leg as Kunnas tries to avoid it.
Wang uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Kunnas.

Kunnas looks to score with a jab to the body but Wang is just out of range.

Wang fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Kunnas.

Kunnas comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.

Wang lands a nice looking kick to the body. Kunnas takes a step back to recover.

Wang throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.
Wang takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Wang walks into a left hand.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Kunnas keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.

Kunnas blocks a leg kick.
Kunnas is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight.
Wang scores with a spinning back kick!
An inside leg kick lands from Wang.
A looping hook to the body misses from Kunnas. Wang does a little dance to reset his feet.
Kunnas scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
Wang thows a body kick. Kunnas tries to catch it but that hurt him.
Kunnas misses the shot to the body.
Wang avoids the body shot from Kunnas.
Wang shoots in but no luck this time.
Wang slips under a jab from Kunnas.
Wang lands with a kick to the ribs.
A chopping leg kick lands by Wang.
Wang throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Kunnas's waist but Kunnas gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Wang off to one side.
Karl Kunnas has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Zhijing Wang.
Kunnas scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Wang doesn't seem bothered though.

Wang shoots in but Kunnas avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Wang takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Kunnas misses with the combination.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Wang.
Wang shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Kunnas as he jumps to the side.
Nice uppercut there from Kunnas.
Kunnas throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Wang stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Kunnas works Wang's body with a nice hook.
Kunnas thuds his right hand into Wang's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Wang fails with the takedown.

Wang gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Wang throws a nice inside leg kick.
Wang takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
A big right from Kunnas misses.
Wang has a pretty nasty looking mouse under his right eye.
Kunnas lands with a straight right. Wang didn't see that one coming.
Wang is rocked!
Kunnas misses with a hook. Wang ducked under it nicely.
Wang tries to score a power double leg takedown but Kunnas sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Wang somewhat.
Nice takedown defense from Kunnas. No joy for Wang on that attempt.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Karl Kunnas showed his dominance in that final round.
