The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Neto gets a double leg takedown into Gottgtroy's guard. Neto will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Neto controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Neto really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Neto won't allow Gottgtroy to get back to his feet. Neto is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Neto wants to stand but Gottgtroy has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Jose Neto has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet. Nice sprawl there from Gottgtroy as Neto shoots in.
That's one minute gone in the round. Neto closes the distance and clinches up with Gottgtroy, looking for a takedown. Neto pushes Gottgtroy against the cage but Gottgtroy circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Nice takedown defense from Gottgtroy. No joy for Neto on that attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jose Neto. That's going to take a lot out of him. Gottgtroy keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.
No luck for Neto with that takedown attempt. Neto throws a series of punches but Gottgtroy avoids them all with ease. Gottgtroy keeps the fight on the outside. Neto fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Neto throws a predictable looking body shot
and Gottgtroy counters with a crisp one two that drops Neto! Gottgtroy thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Neto to his feet! Neto is in big trouble!
Neto is rocked! We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Neto is looking to clinch but Gottgtroy is avoiding it.
Oh Neto is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Horrible takedown by Neto or perhaps it was just good defense by Gottgtroy which made him look bad. Jose Neto seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. A shot to the body from Neto misses and Gottgtroy counters with a stiff jab, followed by a cross and an uppercut! That's too much punishment for Neto to take - he tumbles to the canvas, blood pouring from his nose, barely conscious. That's the end of the fight! Great knockout by Gottgtroy!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Andre Gottgtroy!
