Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Dismas Tanner! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Louis Gaudinot! The judges for this bout are Lou da Vinci, Joseph Jones and Franklyn Lucas.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Tanner misses with a takedown and Gaudinot counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Gaudinot. Gaudinot tries for a takedown but Tanner manages to get underhooks.

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Dismas Tanner. That's going to take a lot out of him. Gaudinot fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Tanner turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Tanner manages to end up in side control. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Tanner with the ground and pound but Gaudinot regains half guard under the barage of strikes. Gaudinot is not content to let Tanner control the position. Gaudinot is trying is best to control the position here. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Gaudinot gets back to full guard.
Tanner knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Gaudinot on the ground.
That's one minute gone in the round. Tanner throwing strikes from guard but Gaudinot blocks nicely. Gaudinot trying to control the position here. Tanner trying to control the position from guard on top but Gaudinot is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Dismas Tanner wasn't doing enough on the ground. Tanner shoots and misses and Gaudinot counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Gaudinot controls from within his opponent's guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Gaudinot thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Gaudinot not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! There's a bit of a scramble here and now Tanner is on top in guard.

Gaudinot tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Tanner paws at him with a jab and circles away.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Gaudinot misses the shot to the body. A head kick misses from Tanner. A momentary lapse in concentration from Tanner enables Gaudinot to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Tanner manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Gaudinot sitting in guard here, content to control. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Tanner is trying to control the position from the bottom.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Louis Gaudinot hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. Gaudinot misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Tanner.
Tanner throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Gaudinot's waist but Gaudinot gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Tanner off to one side. Gaudinot shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Tanner wants to get back to his feet. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Gaudinot seems to be working for a kimura but Tanner defends the submission attempt. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Tanner wants to improve his position but Gaudinot is controlling well.

Tanner fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Gaudinot gets tackled into the cage by Tanner. Tanner maintains the clinch. Gaudinot prevents a body shot from Tanner. Tanner is trying to trip Gaudinot. He has hold of a leg but Gaudinot is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Tanner persists though and gets the takedown into guard. Tanner wants to control from the top but Gaudinot keeps moving. Gaudinot scrambles and gets back to his feet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gaudinot shoots in looking for a takedown but Tanner manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Gaudinot's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Tanner lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.
Tanner wants to clinch up but Gaudinot keeps it at a distance. Tanner misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Tanner shoots and misses and Gaudinot counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Gaudinot drives through with a takedown into guard. Gaudinot stays in close to Tanner's body and controls the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Gaudinot moves out of range as Tanner throws a body kick.

Gaudinot is fending him off so far but Tanner persists. Nope, Gaudinot circles away and we're back to standing. Tanner misses with a takedown and Gaudinot counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Tanner! Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Tanner is looking to reverse the position. Tanner takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head. Gaudinot thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Gaudinot trying to control the position but Tanner is working away. Gaudinot tries to advance to mount but can't. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Gaudinot advances to mount. Tanner slips a leg in and gets back to half guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Both fighters are breathing heavily. Gaudinot scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Gaudinot is figuring out what he wants to do next. Gaudinot is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Tanner sees it coming and defends easily. Gaudinot stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being. Gaudinot escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Tanner fails in his attempt to clinch. Gaudinot throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. Tanner cracks Gaudinot with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage. Tanner moves in looking to clinch but Gaudinot pushes him off. Tanner tries to clinch up. Tanner slaps away a takedown attempt from Gaudinot, before circling back to the center of the mat. Dismas Tanner is winning the standup battle so far.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Gaudinot avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Gaudinot takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Nice sprawl there from Tanner as Gaudinot shoots in. A bone on bone clash there as Gaudinot blocks the leg kick.

And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Dismas Tanner. I think Gaudinot has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
