PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between King Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tiki Toke (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Johnson comes to the cage accompanied by Johnny Cash - The Man Comes Around. Toke has chosen Bonecracker- Shocore as his entrance music. I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Tiki Toke was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, King Johnson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Tiki Toke!
The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Elvis Blanc and Alec Ball.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Johnson slaps away a takedown attempt from Toke, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Toke avoids a low kick by using good footwork.
Toke will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Toke misses with a takedown
and Johnson counters with a right hand to the body.
King Johnson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tiki Toke.
Johnson stuffs the takedown.
Toke misses with a two punch combination.
Toke displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Johnson throws out the jab.
Toke shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Johnson connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Toke fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Johnson fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Toke on the side of the head.
Toke goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
A swing and a miss from Johnson.
Toke tries for a takedown but Johnson sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Johnson closes the distance and pushes Toke back into the cage.
Johnson looking to throw knees to the head but Toke is blocking nicely.

Toke drops down looking for an ankle pick but Johnson pulls his leg out and moves away.
Toke shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Johnson sprawls well. Johnson wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Toke gets slowly back to his feet.

Johnson drives through and clinches with Toke against the cage.
Johnson creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses.
Toke tries for a takedown but Johnson manages to get underhooks.
The referee calls for Johnson to work.
Toke dodges an elbow strike from Johnson.
Johnson is struggling to control the position.
Johnson struggles to land a body shot inside as Toke controls his hands.

Johnson is stalling here.
Johnson lands a nice elbow.

Toke is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Johnson can't fight it off and eventually Toke manages to take the fight to the floor. Johnson looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Toke trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Toke slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Johnson can't do much from the bottom here.

Toke tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Johnson is trying to improve his position.
Toke has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Johnson managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Toke.

Toke throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.
Johnson manages to work his way to half guard, despite Toke's best efforts.
Toke throwing shots but Johnson is blocking nicely.
Johnson looks like he's trying to stand up.
Toke winds up and cracks Johnson with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Toke throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

Toke is looking for a kimura here.

Toke is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Johnson has managed to free his arm - good work.
Toke throws a strike but Johnson avoids it easily and moves to full guard.
Toke throwing strikes from guard but Johnson blocks nicely.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Toke is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Johnson is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Toke tries to free his leg and advance position but Johnson is retaining full guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Johnson looking to hit a scissor sweep but Toke is one step ahead there.

Toke drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Johnson manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Toke has Johnson in his guard.

Johnson avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Toke throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that King Johnson will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Johnson is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Toke.
Toke moves out of range of the strikes.
Tiki Toke seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Toke fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Johnson throws a low kick, looking for Toke's leg but Toke calmly moves out of range.
Tiki Toke is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Johnson is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Toke tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Johnson paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Johnson tries to clinch but Toke is having none of it.
Toke scores with a one two! Johnson had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
Nice takedown defense from Johnson. No joy for Toke on that attempt.
Toke shoots in and drives through. Johnson sprawls well.
King Johnson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tiki Toke.

Johnson seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Johnson wants to stand but Toke is controlling the position.

Johnson pulls Toke in close to prevent any damage.
Johnson is looking to stand up but Toke isn't so interested in that idea.

The ref stands the fighters back up. King Johnson wasn't doing enough on the ground.
Toke shoots for a double leg takedown but Johnson sprawls well. He's pushed Toke's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Johnson thuds a left hand into Toke's body.
Johnson scores with a jab to the jaw.
Johnson bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.

Johnson throws a low kick but Toke avoids it.

Johnson is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
Johnson misses with a two punch combination.

Toke manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Johnson on his heels. He'll look to pass Johnson's guard now, I'm sure.
Johnson is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Johnson has his feet on Toke's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.
Toke shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Johnson but Johnson pushes him off and we're back to square one.
King Johnson is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Toke is defended easily by Johnson.

Toke throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Johnson was covering up waiting for the punch and Toke finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Johnson has his hands on Toke's head, controlling the position.

Johnson looking for a triangle here. Toke is fighting it but it looks tight! Johnson pulls the arm across and this one won't last much longer! Nope, Toke is tapping out - this one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:25 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle Choke). King Johnson!
King Johnson seemed lost for words in his post fight interview but he remembered to thank his fans and directed everyone to his website.
