Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Birdman Lugz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gene Anderson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gene Anderson has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Birdman Lugz's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 29 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Birdman Lugz!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Gene Anderson!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Frank Dennis and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Anderson has taken the fight to the clinch.

Anderson breaks the clinch.
Lugz fails in his attempt to clinch.
Lugz moves in looking to clinch but Anderson pushes him off.

Anderson closes the distance and pushes Lugz back into the cage.
Anderson jumps guard but Lugz turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Anderson is looking for a takedown.

Anderson has clasped his hands together around Lugz's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Anderson advances to mount.
Lugz is desperately trying to get back to half guard.

Anderson looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.

Lugz is in all sorts of trouble here.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Anderson throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Lugz because Anderson loaded up on that one.

Anderson throws some wild stikes that Lugz manages to avoid easily.
Anderson thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage.
Anderson wants to control the pace but Lugz is squirming around nicely.

Anderson misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
Anderson lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Lugz hang on?

Anderson is working for a guillotine from mount but Lugz frees his head quite easily.

Anderson has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Lugz's face.
Poor strikes thrown by Anderson there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!

Let's hope that Anderson has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Anderson circles away from the clinch attempt.
Lugz lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Lugz tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Anderson swivels and escapes.
Anderson tries a head kick but it misses.
Lugz tries to close the distance and clinch but Anderson swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Anderson takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Lugz wants to clinch.
Lugz clobbers Anderson with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
The fight stays on the outside here - Lugz looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Anderson closes the distance and clinches up with Lugz, looking for a takedown. Anderson pushes Lugz against the cage but Lugz circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Anderson is trying to break the clinch but Lugz is controlling him.
Lugz is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Lugz wants to take the fight to the mat but Anderson manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.

Anderson has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Lugz is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Lugz avoiding damage as Anderson throws knees to the body.
Anderson drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Lugz gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Lugz keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Anderson's efforts to push away.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!



Anderson shoots in and gets a takedown into Lugz's guard.
Anderson controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Anderson throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Anderson slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Gene Anderson hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Anderson drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Anderson tries to free his leg and advance position but Lugz is retaining full guard.
Lugz wants to hit a switch here but Anderson passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Lugz there!
Anderson tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Anderson wants to finish this one by submission but Lugz is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Anderson.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Anderson is landing with some decent strikes but Lugz is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
Anderson unloads with some shots from mount but Lugz bucks and avoids them well.
Anderson with shots to the head and body - Lugz looks very uncomfortable down there.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Anderson stands up from the dominant position, so we're back on the feet.

Anderson rushes Lugz and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Anderson has Lugz pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Lugz manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Anderson takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.
Anderson has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Lugz avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Anderson tries to circle away but Lugz has him pinned against the cage.

Birdman Lugz has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Gene Anderson.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Anderson jumps guard but Lugz stands there with Anderson around his waist. Anderson gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Lugz tries to score a body lock takedown but Anderson shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

Gene Anderson comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Anderson has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
