Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Peter Krig (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Larry Deighton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Peter Krig!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Larry Deighton!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Cecil Peabody and Tiny Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Nice combo by Krig! Oh, that's hurt him - Deighton falls to the canvas and Krig follows him into side control.


It looks like Larry Deighton has been cut.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Deighton is looking to reverse the position.
Krig tries to score with some ground and pound. Deighton controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
You can see the frustration on Deighton's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Krig scores with punches from side control.


Deighton is rocked!
Deighton is trying to improve his position.
Deighton gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Deighton taking some punishment here, with Krig in his half guard.
Deighton keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Krig wants to stand up but Deighton is controlling the position.

Deighton actively working from the bottom here.
Krig prevents Deighton from improving his position.

Krig is thwarting Deighton's attempts to control the position.
Deighton works his way to full guard. Good work.
Krig in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

Deighton throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Krig escapes and throws Deighton's legs to the side, diving into side control!
Krig works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.
Deighton gets back to half guard.
Krig throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Krig lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.

Krig missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
Krig is trying to control the action in half guard but Deighton is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Deighton has one foot on Krig's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.
Krig misses with a hook

and Deighton counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Still in the clinch, Krig scores with a nice short uppercut.
Both fighters working to control the clinch.
Krig stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.
A battle for position here, against the cage.
Krig keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Deighton's efforts to push away.

A short right hand to the side of the head by Krig.
Krig misses with a body punch.
Krig is trying to maintain a safe position but Deighton gets an underhook and turns Krig into the cage.
Deighton is trying to stall.
Deighton is looking to break free of the clinch but Krig has double underhooks.
Deighton blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Krig is pressed up against the cage. Deighton has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Krig down to the mat. Krig avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Krig has taken the fight to the clinch.
Krig struggles to land a body shot inside as Deighton controls his hands.
Krig scores with a nice hook to the head.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Still in the clinch, Krig scores with a nice short uppercut.
Deighton can't break the clinch.
Deighton is trying to pull guard but Krig turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
Krig trying to stall but Deighton improves his position.
Krig lands a right hand.
Krig scores with an uppercut up the middle.
Krig lands with a left to the head.
Deighton is pushing Krig up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.
Krig scores with an uppercut up the middle.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Krig lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Krig prevents a body shot from Deighton.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Peter Krig dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Larry Deighton's cut.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Deighton looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Krig is fending him off so far but Deighton persists. Nope, Krig circles away and we're back to standing.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Deighton.
Krig fakes the body blow, causing Deighton to drop his hands! Left hook to the temple! Deighton goes stiff, and falls face first into the mat. Goodnight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:13 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Peter Krig!
Peter Krig decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
